SMU- DALLAS Crane stand- off and Fall/ Jump (?) ... (HELLUVA F'N DAY PT.3)

Part 3 of the "Helluva F'n Day" series is the first post to actually inspire the series, the previous 2 part's were already in this journal, but not compiled into a series, but I been wanting to do a series related to these cases that are the kind of thing you dont like to remember, yet cant block out, but you must remember to prevent from repeating your mistake's. So it's inspired by those many folk's that I talk to that just had a bad day and got busted, and those stories they tell you, so this is for those who shared with me, and of course for myself, having been there and done that, as far as mistake's in my past or youth. The series title "Helluva F'n Day" is inspired by that shitty feeling you have when you first get booked into jail, and you go to your cell/ holdover, miserable, pissed, and mainly disgusted ... and some mother fucker come's up to you and sayz something like "Hey ... whatcha in for man? ..." ... and you just say something like "Fuck, dont even ask ... it's been a Hell of a fuckin day!"

This case below, Mr. Lee Dell Thomas, never made it to that cell, or never made the day or memory ... but that last day must have been Hell, for hour's in that crane with no working electricity/ ventilation, and temp's inside the cab that had to at least go to 120 degree's ... Thomas just let go you can say and decided to end the day right there.

  1. One wonders why a man with paranoid schizophrenia and a massive criminal record wasn't already receiving psychiatric treatment for his condition (or maybe he was, and it wasn't effective).

After using bright lights and noise machines on a man who was already paranoid, followed by an attempt to storm the crane, no one should be surprised at the outcome. If they were planning to send men up to try to take him, they would have done better to let him fall asleep than try to keep him awake.

  2. From what I gathered Infodell, he wasnt taking his med's (refused)and instead was smoking rock(crack). As far as keeping him up for hour's, well frankly if I was the tactical officer in charge here, I would have demanded a ground safety net long before any of this be set up below, for either him or any officer's, or personel ... but I'm not DPD either, or know why they hadnt.

Thanx for your input here Infodell ....
