Why the name Ranch Chimp? it was in humour because, science says that humans have similar DNA to a chimpanzee,so I felt some way related biologically to a chimpanzee. 2nd, everytime I was out of Texas on a vacation or for whatever reason I’m always asked things like, do I live on a ranch?,or have cattle? so I commonly call Dallas the Ranch. "Politically Depressed" was also humour inspired by the 1993- 2002 Bill Maher TV/ tele show "Politically Incorrect".

RICK WAKEMAN: "Solo", "Jane Seymour", "The Battle", & "Roundabout w/ Yes"
This posting/ induction into this journal's music/ arts honour roll society will be to sample some of the worx of a great 20th/ 21st keyboardist and composer out of the London (UK) area Mr. Rick Wakeman, who been at it since age 5 ... and this guy is just an outstanding musician who is no secret to those who love keyboards, I will let the Wikipedia link handle this as far as the various keyboards that Rick worx with and has over the year's and doing session work with folk's like David Bowie, Sabbath, Elton John, spent a few year's with the progressive rock band "Yes", a great solo career, etc, etc. But for this posting I wanted to showcase some of Rick's work "live", with him I prefer it over studio. In the early 1970's a buddy and I (Shawn, guitarist I was playing with) were given "all access" stage passes to see the band Yes, at the coliseum on the Georgia Tech University campus in Atlanta (we were playing in Underground Atlanta, came up from Miami) I wasn't very familiar with Yes, besides some FM radio play, such as songs like "Roundabout", that got much play. We were close being stageside, Rick was on a swivel stool surrounded by various keyboards, electric piano, minimoog, pipe organ, synthesizer, etc ... an impressive keyboard set up like I never seen! He would spin from one key set to another, and playing multiple at the same time, he was impressive, and the sound was absolutely awesome, as far as Rick's various solos and the band Yes. It blew me away, as far as audio and visual, a show I'll never forget.
Below I wanted to sample some of his solo work with Yes, as well as pieces off his solo LP/ album's "The Six Wives Of Henry VIII" and "Journey To The Centre Of The Earth ... and Thank You for all the great pieces over the years, you are the cream of the crop Sir! ... Enjoy!
