Wall supporters and opponents protest in Texas ... Thanx to AP Archive

This posting will be a Part 33 of the "Taste of Texas" series of this journal/ blog, with an opening video above concerning this wall. This will look at the Rio Grande Valley and the border wall/  fencing controversy for the most part of links ... which I been following, and wanted to have something recorded on it in this journal/ blog. The "wall", is just to get votes for Trump, since he failed his following on just about everything else he promised, and to also put the "Trump" brand name on it, like he does on much else for business promotions. This Rio Grande Valley (known to Texans as "The Valley"), is also just a small area of the massive 1254 mile common border with Mexico and Texas, starting from the shores of the Gulf of Mexico up to the desert and mountains of west Texas, and even through national parks/ forests, and other areas of wildlife preserves, and many areas of tourism ... it's literally huge. The Texas- Mexico border goes through so many different terrains in Texas ... the Brownsville- Matamoros area is subtropical, and all towns connected for miles as part of the Rio Grande Valley with the McAllen- Reynosa metro area, going further west/ northwest you have Laredo- Nuevo Laredo, which is semi- arid bordering the Mexican desert, mostly flat with some hills, then you have El Paso- Juarez, which is mostly arid with many mountains and desert. In areas further west of The Valley and Laredo- Nuevo Laredo up the Rio Grande, such as Terrell County, the cliffs just to get to the river are 300'ft tall/ deep, you would need to be almost an expert mountain climber to even try to get to the river that separates Mexico/ U.S. All of the areas of these cities are fairly good size metropolitan areas, meaning that they are like all one city, half in Mexico and half in Texas ... they function and feed off each other, people in McAllen- Reynosa, population 1.5 million, cross the borders in the thousands daily, for work, entertainment, medical, shopping, etc ... just as folks move around town in any city in America ... as you can see in the Vice News video below, where the mayors of McAllen and Reynosa explain ... the only difference is, they are different countries. If you talk to folks in these towns, they don't even feel separated, they basically work, play and socialize together, latino, black and white, citizens of Mexico or U.S. ... been that way for over a hundred years even. These areas, which I have been to all of them, are some of the most friendliest places in the U.S., I've been all over this country (mainland U.S.), and you won't find more friendly laid back people anywhere, it's the kind of towns/ cities where even strangers will talk to you and greet you, neighbours and people look out for each other, etc.

What is also disgusting about this border wall controversy out of Washington DC, started  through the President and some other politicians, is what they have turned these towns into, where people are at each others throats now, as you can see in the opening video above. These folks don't live in the daily rat race and environment like y'all up there do ... nor have your convoluted neoliberal mindset. It is difficult for especially wealthy folks and politicians like Trump, that live in these heavily class and race segregated big cities such as NYC, Washington DC, Baltimore, Philly, etc, to imagine folks living more or less in harmony, in a much more relaxed and slower paced areas nearly 2000 miles from there. Coming down here with your political games and garbage and contaminating the lives of these people is WRONG ... the President is WRONG. I don't understand this President or many of them up there, I don't even recall seeing him (Trump) ever smile or laugh, and he seems super paranoid too, as if he just wakes up in the morning with the red- ass. Most folks don't want this border wall, or especially folks like Nayda Alvarez (first video below with Nayda and Fred) ... can you imagine waking up in the morning, coming out of your home and having to look at 30'ft concrete and steel wall? ... that was built basically for a billionaire politician to get votes, and his business promotions. Then you have folks like Fred Cavazos, Fred's familia came here from Spain in the 1760's and got this land ... now they want to use eminent domain, if they can't buy out these peoples land for so called fair market value, tear up these people's property for political control reasons ... you know, like ... fuck your lowballed markets value. No, you fight this shit tooth and claw till the end, they would never give you enough of their paper currency to replace your home, lifestyle, and the serenity you enjoy, and you could hardly live on the amount in any U.S. city. I also linked below, the corruption, bribes, money laundering, etc, that contractors do in these deals ... and another piece concerning how easy a wall would be for claiming asylum even, legally, because of how deep it will go into the U.S. interior at some places. I myself a month ago, talked to a guy who was formerly a coyote (brings illegals in), he told me all these wayz, that others already have right now, to get around any concrete and steel barriers, if and when they put this up ... in other words, coyotes/ traffickers already have calculated plans on how they will get around it. Some links and video of interest below I compiled ... and a closing video at the bottom of local Valley folks this last Halloween 2018, celebrating in downtown McAllen.

Geddy Lee Tells His Family's Holocaust Story (Full Interview) ... Thanx to Q1043 New York

 *****************************************************************************

First up, Happy Valentine's Day to my wife, daughters, granddaughter and the ladies of America! This posting will be a Part 2 posting of the Toronto band Rush (Part 1 HERE). On this posting I added an interview from 2 weeks ago, when Geddy Lee stopped by the Q104.3 studio in NYC to share his family's Holocaust survival story with Shelli Sonstein, this is something I knew about for long anywayz. But there are still quite a few people that don't believe the Holocaust happened ... I myself had heard the stories as a kid, like Geddy, from those who were in the camps, I also ran my fingers across the prisoner number tattoo on the forearm as a kid, so I am firm in belief of the Holocaust ... but I'll let Geddy get into that with the opening video above. I been intending anywayz on adding a part 2 on Rush to this journal/ blog for awhile, because they are just an outstanding trio, and had put out so much music over the decades. I wanted to open the music part below with a drum solo from Neil Peart, because Neil is just an excellent drummer/ percussionist, and he alwayz does his solos in shows. Unfortunately it appears that Neil is really retired, suffering from chronic tendonitis and shoulder issues, I was hoping a couple years ago, that it was just a temporary thing, that maybe therapy would help or whatever, but it appears not, and Geddy and Alex last I read, seemed to confirm that Rush is retired, I assume because of Neil (I don't know), Neil was the primary lyricist for them also, with his background in literature/ writing. Rush is just a real treat being a 3 piece band, and especially in my view the structure of the pieces as far as composition ... all 3 members are a show in themselves, and I enjoy hearing them out individually, the final product is alwayz excellent! So besides Neil's opening solo, I chose some others that are old time favourites I wanted in here, and wanted to close out at the bottom with "Red Sector A" featuring "Clockwork Angels String Ensemble", the lyrics were done by Neil, music by Geddy and Alex, and this was done for Geddy's familia and other survivors ... Enjoy! ....

AOC GREEN NEW DEAL 2019: Revision on VISION, and Reform of The Platform ... The ... "Clear Vision Mission" Edition ... (TROUBLESHOOTING with Alexandria Ocasio- Cortez PT.2)- (GLOBAL WAR'N'ING PT.58)

Image result for alexandria ocasio cortez green new deal

This posting will be to highlight and hear- out U.S. Congresswoman Alex Cortez of New York, I guess most refer to her as Ocasio- Cortez or AOC, I just personally call her Alex Cortez. This will be Part 58 of the "Global War'n'ing" series, and will be a Part 2 of Alex Cortez, which I felt to kick off a new series for her in this journal/ blog that will be called "Troubleshooting with Alexandria Ocasio- Cortez", because she has been really on the ball and troubleshooting many of our problems, considering her short time as a member of the House, and I feel that she will have much to contribute to America, so I expect much more to come. I opened below with some views on this Green New Deal and more, with Danielle Kurtzleben for NPR ... there is also the Resolution/ PDF linked in the NPR piece, which is straight, short, and to the point for your convenience. Below that some video, first on the deal accompanied by co- sponsor Sen. Markey of Massachusetts ... the 2nd video she will answer many questions by Chuck Todd of MSNBC. Alex already has a clear vision, and frankly we need a revision and update for our vision as Americans and our politics and policies ... and the Democratic Party could even use some reform to their platform, vision and mission for 2020. Also, as you can see below, there is nothing radical about what Alex talks about here or her approach to change and find solutions to many of our problems ... there is an old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" (similar wording) ... the problem is ... much has been broke for years, and there has been a reluctance to fix much of anything. Some just say that anything is radical that questions the status quo ... questioning is NOT radical, it is importante for a healthy society and for democracy. Some criticize that the resolution is too overboard, asking too much or whatever ... due to the current times and condition, extreme weather events, economics, lobbies and so forth ... you MUST put a full plate on the table, because you know that whatever you get, will only be a fraction of what is truly needed. Whether you agree or not with Alex and colleagues, it is alwayz healthy to give it all a fair listen and consideration, I myself don't totally agree with Alex, but I think that things can be reasonably ironed out and negotiated for much, while even being considerate and fair to corporate players ... all should be importante to democracy and business. At the bottom of the posting, I will add some of my own views and on parts of what Alex discusses.

Thomas Hudson Pickering/ Ranch Chimp with wife, Rosalie

First up, I'll show you how radical Alex's views and proposals are ... read what scientists from all over the globe have warned and what they propose here ... calling her ideas radical, is like telling your doctor when they detect and inform you of a serious health problem in you, that they're radical extremists. Of course you're going to believe the scientific evidence, not some fly- by- night hustler who's only vision is how to peddle some inferior product to you at an inflated price ... after all, it has already been proven, that renewable energy is not only cleaner, more sustainable and abundant, but a significant savings on costs ... so who is really radical or nutz? This is why you need to have such a strong resolution, because you know that you will only get a fraction of it, the scientists are telling us what is needed, and they try to be as conservative as possible in their assessments, constantly trying to prove their findings wrong ... so you know this is serious. As far as Speaker Pelosi being such a champion of tackling climate change ... "show me" ... I haven't seen anything out of her that would even make me remotely think that, but it is great that she is willing and trying to deal with it, which is more than I can say for many, and great that Alex is giving her the benefit of doubt and willing to work with her. You may say "Pelosi was strong in fighting Trump on the border wall", which she was ... but the border wall has nothing to do with the big money or investors, CEO's, or the fossil fuel industries, no one of any financial importance gives a shit about a border wall, mostly only folks wearing red MAGA ball caps. Some of the House or Senate members even that are jumping on board, are doing it only for political reasons ... their votes, proposals and actions to come, will show you the level of sincerity. It is a big plus, that mainstream media is showcasing Alex and this, even if it is just to laugh at her, such as FOX News is doing, or this scientifically illiterate President we have ... I'd be scared to allow Trump to even change the goddamn oil on my car, without fucking that up, let alone giving me a scientific assessment! But yes, they have been twisting what she is saying/ proposing in this resolution, saying things like "she wants to shut down all air traffic and have people take boats or rail to cross the ocean" and "she is wanting to turn the US into a communist country with no borders, take all the wealthy peoples money, and pay everyone money to not work or do anything" ... this is the level of fanaticism and stupidity this has turned into with folks like FOX News, and sadly, there are many who will believe it ... NO, she is not proposing any of such, and if a country had no borders, it could NOT be communist.

No, as Alex points out to Chuck above, she did not start a movement, this movement has been in the worx for years already. In fact, much of the proposals as far as going to renewables, has been in progress and being built and implemented for years as well, as you can see throughout this "Global War'n'ing" series. The call to do so much in a 10 year time frame is steep, but scientists are already telling us we need way drastic change in the next 12 years too. Pushing for 10 years or the 2030 mark is what is needed, because we're more likely to achieve needed goals in 2050 at the current rate we're going, and we may regret that later. For example, I would go into the job (printing/ graphic arts business) out of habit every day, and work my ass off the minute I hit the door, while some employees would drink coffee and read the sports page for an hour or more before they lift a finger, some would get the red- ass (angry) when I would assign jobs to their presses at 8am sharp, they would ask why I'm so hyped up or whatever? ... I'd tell them, doing this early and getting it out of the way, makes our afternoon laid back, so we can coast, because we got the bulk already done ... same thing here, procrastinating and slacking puts more strain on you later. The business approach to this plan is also a big plus ... business/ economics is the biggest factor in ANY negotiations, again, you must be able to communicate well, reach out to those who disagree, and be able to "sell" them ... and again, you have a product that will help you, because it is frankly doing well at selling itself, looking at the economic and environmental advantages record/ stats. Making sure also that there is the jobs and training plan approach and design to improve the economy with this model, while improving the inequality issue, and expand investment opportunities and new entrepreneurialism is also a big plus in this. We need to use our legislative branch and bills to make it all business friendly, meaning to incentivize folks to want a piece of the action ... and make it more attractive for existing fossil fuel industries to invest much more, focusing more incentives and perks for those looking to diversify their investments more ... you got a great product, a clean and profitable product, showcase how it's economically smart and viable. All your importante players and markets/ investors around the globe are concerned to some extent with the global warming issue, regardless of how they pretend they're not, you can tell in their meetings, discussions, and actions as far as looking out for their own properties/ assets ... they are eager to find solutions too, that way they can highside and take credit later, kind of a public relations thing, because of growing criticism. Much of the action is going to have to come from public majority/ populism pressure too, on them and politicians, they all have to feel the pressure for extra motivation.

Yes, the Green New Deal is probably the most intense of it's kind that I have seen, and the chance of it being passed as is, is zero, I agree. But this is just a model, template, idea, and proposal of strong progressive ideas for change, you look at it and work from it. Moderate Democrats are worried this will cost them in elections? This is just a resolution, and it helps to create a platform, you can pick and choose what is most importante for a platform, and there will be a new support of voters to come from any of it. Bernie Sanders showed how strong his message was, he got more unexpected votes and small donations support than anyone in 2016, and had won in places that were said he couldn't, there is strong desire from many for significant change. Candidate Trump then was even agreeing on things like single payer and getting Republican support, praising Bernie Sanders and using Bernie's talking points, as well as saying he thought that taxes should be raised on the rich, including himself, there is film on candidate Trump saying all this, and look at how much of this was supported by various political backgrounds across the country ... of course, Trump didn't mean it, he's just a good orator when selling himself. Alex was also a hot topic on the lips of the wealthy in Davos at the economic forum, billionaires are downright worried about what she is proposing (CNBC). This is where I look at a different approach too, as far as taxation. I don't think, and never did, that taxing the shit out of the wealthiest will solve our problems by a longshot. Neoliberalism and the new global model in markets/ economics is already deeply entrenched, we have been reluctant to challenge this for the last few decades, the money is already where it is. I would not tax the shit out of the wealthiest, and taxes are very complicated, who gets taxed what, and on what, with more loopholes than you can shake a stick at. I would NOT, in our current condition, try to take back the tax break that the President already gave out, this will cause market/ investment panic ... in other words, we already gave it to you, Merry Christmas, invest and enjoy! (I don't cry over spilt milk). We talk about how great America was during 70% to 90% taxation rates from the 1930's through 1960's, great business, infrastructure investments, jobs, etc ... but the global market, trade, techs/ manufacturing/ production and jobs arena is much more diversified and globally interconnected today than then. Where I see we can get much more money than taxing the wealthiest to death, is restructuring our own spending priorities and GDP, and making corporations pay for more of their fuck- ups and less extravagant welfare handouts, cutting subsidies where able and feasible and other related things ... our own government spending is out of whack big time. I'll give you your big tax incentives and investment incentives, but when you fuck up, you will need to be more responsible and accountable, like anyone is expected in a free market. We have to focus on taking care of our communities, infrastructure needs and people, as corporations have to focus on taking care of their business.

The other challenge that this generational planned neoliberal agenda has got us entangled with, is this economic power battle with the east, the Russia- China front, both of which are challenging us to be the new world leader in all. Even though I enjoy Russian and Chinese media, I also would not trust either country any further than I can throw them, and this is not against the people, but their governments. I personally don't care about being the No#1 world power, but many do ... I feel we have adequate defense to protect ourselves efficiently, and we have strong assets and incentives, with a unique financial environment for investment, manufacturing, and industries/ techs development to be economically healthy going forward, and especially for renewable energies and massive infrastructure planning and development. So I don't like or feel we need to act so strongly on the economic rat race we are in with the east ... and feel we can take different approaches to aligning ourselves with existing and new trade partnerships globally, without going crazy at every move that China and Russia make ... also, the tariffs we put forth with Trump, although with good intentions by Trump, is backfiring on us, we need a more careful approach. I would also like to reduce our intervention and conflicts in some lands for oil or other resources, of course, if we don't, China or Russia will (or Russia at China's bidding) ... but that's fine, let them take the heat and negative publicity from the global councils, it will save us a few bucks and improve our image, let someone else be global asshole for a change ... bottom line, let them dig their own graves. We also depend on selling defense equipment to others around the globe, we can make changes to how and who we sell to as well, and restrict it more, but still have defense sales, and even expand non- lethal defense technologies and security. So we don't have to shut down the defense business either, but transform it, and make it more efficient and more well regulated. We are spending way too much on defense, and the budget keeps getting bigger every year, and of course we spend and waste, to make sure the next budget gets as much or more than the last, it's a fool's game you can't win. When big countries like China and Russia either violate rules or treaties, we handle it with a global alliance, not just wake up with the red- ass one morning over a tweet, and decide to spend billions more to make bigger weapons, the chances of a intercontinental ballistic missile attack on continental US is slim, that would crash markets and economies worldwide, most of this is to sell woof tickets (like a verbal threat). We are alwayz told that we need austerity, to cut all kinds of spending on basic essentials and programmes for our country, or having to sell our land and assets ... yet many corporations are getting welfare out the ass and subsidized beyond reason, because they're also drafting the legislation for it. If we need spending cuts, they need to get cut more than anyone else, they've been getting a free ride across the board.

Which brings me to the "Medicare For All" part of this posting ... how? ... because what I talk about above as far as our spending in this rat race, is the reason why all the folks say nothing can be done, they ask where all the money for this or that will come from? We are spending too much on shit that won't make us or break us, and years later, we alwayz acknowledge our past mistakes, and of course, each political party blaming the last administration as usual. I like a "Medicare For All" plan, as you can see in my "Healthcare Reform" series, however, I feel a better approach to it, would be a simple free market approach (which those who espouse free market talk, don't even want). President Obama back in 2008/ 2009, talked about an idea he proposed for a "20% public option", this is more of a business friendly approach, and it can test its strength and workability at the same time. Insurance companies, pharma, or medical providers can't whine that they're being shut down either. We make a plan to where people can voluntarily buy into a public/ government health plan, they pay through payroll tax and other small taxes, millions are ready ... and we give a few other incentives, employers will save, and be able to use those savings for employees, equipment, expansion of business and new hires. People can choose their plan ... for many like myself, it would work fine too ... I would rather pay a plan like that for my basic needs, than the thousands a year that I may have to pay now with all the parts, supplements, deductibles and out of pockets/ co- pays that I do now. Insurance, med services and pharma will actually have to compete, this will bring down costs ... there are many models out there showing how to bring down costs, we have a whole army of experts who have a ton of ideas on how to make this work. I'm like Alex on this, don't tell me it can't be done, when I know goddamn well that it can, WITHOUT suddenly tearing down all the related businesses ... people like us, and most people with half a brain, can see this is not a free market health care system, but a monopoly designed, drafted, and directed by "corporate communism". Taking a different kind of approach to achieving a true health care system that will reach all, can be done more fair and easier, since the excuse year after year, is that we will shut down the existing industries suddenly, which would cause an economic disaster. "IF" the existing health care industry is all what they say it is ... it will have a fair chance to prove itself in a competitive market, and the consumer who buys it, will choose what worx best for them, the stats will show what is more cost efficient as well, free market will take it's course, and the most efficient and best will come out and expand according to consumer demand, as they all hypocritically preach in these industries ... you cannot do this without taking some kind of action. And we need more politicians with some goddamn fresh vision and backbone like Alex. We have done NOTHING for years now as far as fixing the health care system in this country, it has gotten worse by the year, and the costs are beyond anything reasonable, it has to be right now, the most screwed up health care system in the world, with companies just ripping each other and consumers off. Pharma the same thing, we need to reduce costs, and have more options as consumers. If existing providers and insurers can't compete, they will be the cause of their own failure, and can only blame themselves.

KATHERINE JOHNSON | NASA: Mathematician with Ambition Breaking the BOUND BARRIER ... The "Computers in Skirts" Edition ... (BLACK HISTORY | HARMON LOFT PT.15)- (ABOVE & BELOW PT.21)

Katherine Johnson with NASA engineer and astronaut, Leland Melvin

**** NASA: Katherine Johnson Biography

This posting will serve as Part 15 of the "Black History | Harmon Loft" series of this journal/ blog for Black History Month, and Part 21 of the "Above & Below" series ... to highlight NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson (wikipedia). All credit for this "Black History" series should go to Harmon (aka "Red"), who was a mentor and friend of mine in my youth, this series is totally inspired by him, I owe it to him, and because I'm sure if he were alive in the 21st century of internet communications/ media, he would certainly have a website/ blog on this subject. I myself, find the African American history and experience to be very unique, and I'm a white male of euro descent ... as a kid, when Harmon would tell me all these stories in small chat, it was interesting, being I never heard a thing about this in school. I was with some guys that were Arabic immigrants from Morocco once (Morocco being also in northwest Africa), a couple of them spoke negative about black Americans, and blacks just complaining or whatever, and that they or their history shouldn't be special, because they were immigrants themselves and are not special or whatever.  I explained to them about the history of blacks in America ... unlike these Moroccan guys, blacks were brought here by force, to make money and serve whites as slaves ... sure, many immigrants are exploited, black, white, brown, yellow, for capitalism here ... but none are treated as the black African slaves were, or tortured, killed, branded, and labeled as property. This type of mentality towards blacks in America in recent modern times comparison, is basically the same mentality that Nazis had for Jews. Unlike these guys from Morocco or my ancestors from Europe, my wife's familia from the Philippines, we all brought our culture and languages here, made our families by our choices, etc. Black Africans that were bought, brought and enslaved in America by force back in the 18th/ 19th centuries, were not allowed to get educated, read, advance, choose their families, have any say-so over their children ... their children even being traded as property like a commodity, as well as legally sexually assaulted (raped) ... or no say-so on their values, their religious beliefs, culture, etc ... yet, they built this country and contributed so much to it, without being recognized or given credit for years, while still being persecuted ... they even built our so called sacred White House, fought our wars, raised our children, invented things that we all use and take credit for, etc ... this is "why" their history is special and unique to America.

To Katherine, what she done was no big deal, she simply wanted to do what she loved and was good at ... and just done it, despite obstacles or stereotype thinking. But what was big about this, was getting in a position like this back in the 1950's America, being black and a woman ... she is not only a mathematician and teacher, but an inspiration to kids, and a great American. Opportunity came when NACA (ended 1958, replaced with NASA), was looking for women to join their team, doing the legwork, acting as human computers, or what folks may call "computers in skirts". Imagine going to work, and your office sign is labeled "coloured computers", having to work extra hard for less and having to prove your abilities beyond reason. She co- authored one of the first textbooks on space at Langley, and yes, it was "rocket science", according to NASA. When opportunity knocked, she was on it like a cheap suit on sunday, she was passionate ... when she first applied, there were no positions left, the 2nd time, she nailed it. Instead of breaking the sound barrier, she had to break the bound barrier, freeing her mind and will from the psychological bondage of society. Katherine set aside all the things that mainstream society institutionally programmed into her ... she loved her work, she was tops in math, she loved associating with people who were smart, and questioned everything, and not just for her benefit, but to question others and analytics, whether from a computer or a human ... she thought assertive, and didn't let things stand in her way. So she was able to experience, contribute, and be involved with a major breakthrough for humanity ... taking humans into space and beyond, choreographing their missions, while these astronauts lives were in the hands of folks like Katherine. Today Katherine is considered as one of the pioneers of the space age because of her contributions, of what she done below for our missions above. Since Katherine is still around to tell the story and answer questions too, I chose a one on one interview with her below to highlight ... and Thank You to Katherine Johnson for her contributions to America.

This entry into this journal's music/ arts honour roll society will be to feature the Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group (wikipedia). This is one of the various projects of Omar, he is well known for his work with The Mars Volta, which you can see the excellence in the composition, and his exceptional guitar work too. I say exceptional guitar work, because he has been now recognized more for his work in guitar circles, because Omar never looked at himself as a guitar great, in fact, he stresses how he strives for simplicity ... but he is certainly unique, and his compositions are pretty complex, pretty genius work though, in my view. This is why I posted the first video below of Omar being interviewed back when on tour in 2011 with Mars Volta, explaining how simple his guitar actually was, and the reason. Omar's specialty I would say, is utilizing a large pedals effects board that he used, below in the opening video, he explains how he drastically reduced it's size by over half, to try to simplify that for him and his tech ... he points out that he is using a single pickup, one knob guitar ... I'll also note that he loves Ibanez guitars and Orange amps. Omar is self made- self styled guitarist ... he admits that he is ignorant of music theory too, he is also a "leftee" and don't pay much mind to conventional guitar playing techniques, he actually started music on his own as a kid with bass, piano, and drums. In recording sessions he has been known to have others running their parts through songs only listening to themselves, and not other members, so not much about Omar is conventional ... and everything he puts together is "by ear" and from within, and on feeling only, not written. Omar works on various projects, and from what I read, I assume he has so much as well that never been published, with so many musicians, in various parts of the world ... this guy just puts out a ton of stuff. Even though the music falls into several genres of music today ... I find an element of older progressive rock and jazz incorporated.

Below the interview, I selected a few pieces to showcase here from an LA show of past ... really some excellent stuff. I wanted this in particular too, to showcase some of the drum/ percussions from Deantoni Park (wikipedia), Park is another that is top of the chain as far as his work ... he is excellent! Also featured below on vocals is Mexican singer/ songwriter/ actor Ximena Sarinana Rivera (wikipedia), Omar even uses effects on her vocal work, which blends it for the mood perfectly. Wishing Omar and associates a fun journey and much more to come ... this is just some great stuff! ... Enjoy!

TEXAS COAL ENERGY ... Is NO Longer Cheaper to KEEP Her, & The state of the State leaves NO Debate ... The "Better Business" Edition ... (GLOBAL WAR'N'ING PT.57)- (AMERICAN JOBS PT.12)

Culberson County, Texas

This posting will serve as Part 57 of the "Global War'n'ing" series of this journal/ blog, and to focus locally on Texas energy, and also Part 12 of the "American Jobs" series. The posting was inspired by a recent article I read below in the Houston Chronicle ... and this will serve as an update on the "Texas Wind Farms" posting I done back in 2012. This posting will be to look at the business end a little more, since I alwayz try to point out business advantages in green energy throughout this series. The first video below is down in Georgetown, a small Texas city of 70,000+ folks, that is powered on most days with 100% renewable power. Below that, the first news link from the Houston Chronicle, will show how coal is basically becoming obsolete, it has a new competitor in Texas ... which is cleaner, better, and cheaper. The next article from 1 Solar Solution, is to show more business, investment, and environmental advantages of wind and solar ... which basically amounts to better business all the way around. The last closing video, is to look at the jobs market in this new industry. Below at the bottom, I'll toss in a few words of my own.

Texas is a fast growing state, and with that comes alot more traffic, construction, industries, etc ... if you're a Texan, you're probably familiar with the beauty as well around different parts of the state, and support the "Don't Mess With Texas" campaign, and the strict penalization/ issuing citations for littering along our roadways. The pollution that comes with growth as well, should be just as strict as far as trying to reduce it, it is strongly needed and the state of the State. Look all we have to shell out for oil spill accidents and the economic ripple effect on consumers and taxpayers, healthcare due to air quality and the rest. What Mayor Ross talks about also in the first video is just common sense, as far as what would you prefer to buy ... dirty energy at $25 bucks a megawatt, or clean energy at $18 bucks a megawatt? ... it's a win- win any way you slice it. It's sad, that we even have to prove how much of a win this is to some, because any good product should be able to sell itself ... which is the reason I point out the business benefits throughout this series as well, and pointing out the mega business this will grow into. It isn't just the coal lobby spending on politicians to keep coal or any fossil fuel industry in use, you can blame it on politicians that simply don't have any sales skills. In any business where you have a winning product that can sell itself, and a consumer demand for, there shouldn't be any problem for a legislator to sell it, and to make legislation to incentivize investment, so politics is one of our biggest problems ... we just have some folks in politics that are worthless for much of anything. In Texas, we had a conservative governor, Rick Perry, who was basically even a slacker, good only for a few goods jokes here and there ... who took action for the state to invest billions in this, and it's paying off ... so that tells me there are too many others on both sides, NOT trying to do a damn thing.

The jobs part of this should even sell itself ... since so many politicians talk about jobs, jobs, jobs ... and make it a prime campaign issue, there is more jobs being created here than the fossil fuel jobs ... more should be talking about green jobs, both Democrats as well as Republicans. You can see above how some of these folks feel about their new energy jobs ... it's more sustainable employment, and you have to have techs to maintain wind turbines too, and you get to go home after your shift. It's a Hell of alot less hazardous working conditions than being out on the oil rig platform, and way cleaner and safer environment than the oil fields and refinery plants. Those folks working the fields, are also spending more money at local restaurants and stores in their towns, which leads to more business ... as well as all the logistics that's needed. At the same time, look at the possibilities for economic clean development that it will bring to so many rural areas in all the Great Plains states, not just Texas ... in areas that may be struggling economically, and areas that are heavy with conservatives, that felt abandoned by Washington. These areas would not just be expanding their economies and creating new economic advantages, but also providing a great service to larger surrounding towns and the country ... great for your community and great for America! On a global scale, something like a massive energy infrastructure plan, would be a shining example to other countries in the world, and put America in a positive spotlight, and puts us in a leading role position. It opens more competition, free market and investments opportunity and diversity. This is NOT attacking fossil fuel industries either, they have every reason, opportunity and capital to be players in this ... it's change, a new deal, and opportunity for so many. And when conflicts break out in some other oil, gas, and coal rich parts of the world, it won't send our economy into the level of unpredictability and worry as much as it currently does when these things happen.

TSA STRIKE RIGHT 2019: A Community of Opportunity for Workers UNITY & DIGNITY ... The "Bow Down & Shutdown" Edition ... (AMERICAN JOBS PT.11)- (GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN & COUNTDOWN PT.6)- (THE AWAKENING PT.54)

This posting will serve 3 series of this journal/ blog ... "American Jobs", "Government Shutdown & Countdown" and "The Awakening" series. I believe we are at Day 27 now of this latest government shutdown 2019, both sides in Washington are sticking to their guns, Federal workers and contractors are feeling the pinch. As far as I last read, there doesn't seem to be an end right now. I was browsing some of this online, and looking for a more sensible approach, and importantly one that has input from the workers, since they are the ones getting shit on the most. I ran across the NY Times piece below, Thanx to Democracy Now, and a video below that with Barbara who co- wrote the piece in the Times. At the bottom, I'll toss in a few views of my own.

So far, just one friend told me he and is wife are getting affected by this, when he told me the other day that he was thinking about selling his bikes. He has these really nice Harley Davidson bikes/ motorcycles that he put much money and work into customizing, and are beautiful ... but his wife is the worker hit, and the major breadwinner I guess. I can't tell the man who is 45 what to do, but I told him I would try to hold off a little longer, if it was me ... and hope that something will give, hate to see him lose his bikes. A couple other guys were asking me about this, although their jobs are not affected, yet. One guy figuring they can draw unemployment, another guy said the government is guaranteeing back pay for folks, but how do they pay bills in the meantime? Folks are dipping into their retirement accounts, in food banks, trying to get food stamps, it's turned into a confusing mess for sure. I'm guessing I'll hear from others soon who are affected by this, because as this goes on, it will expand. Sadly this is simply over a border wall, which I view as another spending waste, I know a little about how the illegal immigrant market worx down here, as well as the illegal drug business ... a wall is not going to stop these thriving businesses, I'll leave it at that. But the whole thing is simply political, and many in Washington don't even know a thing about what goes on down here, never even come down here, etc. And telling folks to walk dogs and babysit or other wayz to earn a few extra bucks, show how out of touch many in Washington are. I mean, I can't tell if they're just really that ignorant, or really that full of shit, or a little of both. What I do know, is that we just can't keep listening to their nonsense and expect to get anything straight out of them soon at the pace this has been going. So all these folks protesting and raising Hell is importante. I put this in the Awakening series, because every time we get shafted on things like this, it brings even more awareness, and hopefully in time, people will start to even reject this bullshit more. There should be legislation of some kind to prevent this from happening among themselves up there, since they have all kinds of legislation on what we can or can't do ... at least to where the government can't shutdown over something like this.

But yes, this is an opportunity for workers to raise their voices even more to be heard. They say that they can't strike, that the President can force them to work or whatever. So you're saying that folks can be ordered to work for nothing, right? ... yet the rest of the time, they will tell us, if you don't like your job, just quit. What are y'all going to do? ... fire everybody? ... fine or confine everybody? ... how much more do we need to bow down to these people? How many more scare tactics will they throw at folks every time they don't get their way? Yes, I think a strike will actually motivate others to stand up, maybe even for others to join in and support them and start to strike in other sectors. You can bet on it ... if the workers strike on this, it will really hurt business, and like Barbara said above, they will start to get pressured into working something out ... the people/ workers are in a position to force them into resolving this, right here and now. My buddy told me, that if TSA folks strike it would be chaotic for business, due to all the business travel, etc ... and it would hurt everyone. That's the whole damn point though ... you can't get through to these folks unless you hit them where it really hurts, the pocketbook and the shareholders. We will hurt? ... Hell man ... folks are already hurting, you can't expect anything to be fixed or even to get anywhere on rights, pay, fairness, or a damn thing without some pain. The more you keep letting these folks scare you, the more they will scare you, and with increased intensity as it goes on ... history shows you they will not stop. You keep working for free, they will keep expecting you to work for free, over and over ... and the top wealth will find more wayz to even squeeze you more, till you are drained dry. This passive way of thinking does not work well, and as Albert Einstein said, similar wording (No proof that Einstein said this, but the quote is commonly credited to him) ... it's insanity to keep doing the same shit over and over and expect different results. The masses of workers and consumers are what makes it all work ... I don't think we realize at times, how much power we actually have, if we just utilize it. What is happening is disgraceful and insulting to the worker and consumer, and it will only get worse if you continue to bow to these pressures. My modest advice? ... make a final reasonable request, and if they play games ... strike, and fuck what they think about it.

Sahra Wagenknecht- DIE LINKE | THE LEFT

*****************************************************************************

Left 2.0: Wagenknecht launches 'Stand Up' movement against German establishment ... Thanx to RT

This posting will be for the same 3 series as the last on neoliberalism ... "Neoliberalism Crisis", "The Awakening", and "Public Patriots" ... an opening video above. This is more good news, and will take a look at "Aufstehen" (wikipedia) out of Germany, and Sahra Wagenknecht, which founded this movement with others last summer (2018), and of course, I like Sahra and view her and the movement as public patriots. Being myself unfamiliar with politics in these other countries, this is also educational/ enlightening/ inspirational for working class Americans like me. And Aufstehen are being inspired by folks in neighbouring France like the Gilets Jaunes (BBC), still strong in their 9th round of protests, and folks like Jeremy Corbyn (wikipedia) in the UK ... and even folks across the Atlantic like Bernie Sanders in the US, and others. And when you start a movement and 170,000 folks immediately jump on board ... you are doing something right and good for the public, because this neoliberalism has been attacking folks, bottom line, without any consideration or fair negotiation for anything but profit driven corporate communism ... the people need input, not just banks and corporations only. Again, it's not just the US, they been playing and coming down on our EU friends hard. And this new far right wing even in politics, have made it so there is no balance no more ... you need a strong left, in order to even have any left, not this phony half- assed centrist left or whatever they call this shit. Look at our own country (US) and how everything had to shift to the right, thanx to neoliberalism, they even moved our Democratic Party further and further to the right, year after year, saturated with corporate and religious institutional type nationalism (that isn't even anything close to actual nationalism) ... and come up with some new excuse or title to call it ... who the fuck do you think is orchestrating this austerity and this latest wave of neoliberal policies? ... sure as Hell ain't the majority of people on the left or the right. And you knew this was coming, if you looked at this years back. I started this Awakening series years back, to record this growing movement, it was obviously needed and inevitable, that folks around the globe would rise up and resist, country to country, back to back in waves ... folks in all the so called "free democracies" were going to stop and think for themselves at some point ... and even folks in "less free" countries, regardless of all the bullshit they're fed ... folks know when they're getting screwed. Aufstehen like Gilets Jaunes are not just some prepaid political group, or care to be pigeonholed into the current status quo political arena dictated by big money only ... they are for the peoples interests and welcome all, which is needed, as I point out in related postings.

We should be thanking folks like Gilets Jaunes, Aufstehen and others for their movements, even if they are not American, they are an inspiration for us as well, there needs to be a counterpunch of some kind, because the bottom 99% of folks are getting the shit beaten out of them on things like wages and rights too. Neoliberalism is here, and it will not be challenged in the least without action, such as any economic model and situation in history, you must stand your ground to get any results that benefit you, like alwayz, you are dealing with tyrants. I was talking to some guys over the weekend here in the Dallas area, little younger than myself and seen less ... they were concerned about some folks using violence, being, you know, not cool ... and violence should always be a last resort. But I think we sometimes confuse what violence is with self defense, when you are defending yourself against violence and oppression that has no consideration or respect for your needs, I call retaliation in ANY form, simply "self defense". Again, there is all kinds of tools to resist, it isn't all violent, or all peaceful, or all one way only ... you want results, and sometimes you can't just ask these folks nicely. Aufstehen will be taking to the streets of Germany this year, and have plans for many protests ... Sahra and founding associates do not advocate or like violence, but she is sympathetic towards those defending their rights and standing their ground who resort to such, which is understandable. Not everyone on the left will agree with Sahra of course, an anti- fascist activist with "pies for misanthropes" threw a chocolate cake/ pie in her face, because of her changing her stand on immigration. It is popular thought, that only those on the right want to limit immigration ... but there are others on the left who see the way immigration policies are set up, are working against many of the working and middle classes in some wayz, which is why I wanted to add the link to David Adler's Nation piece below. Simply wanting some control of immigration is not anti- humanitarian or whatever, if you are at a point where you can't afford it, do you think the oligarchs will bail you out or help? I look at every country as having their own unique circumstances, it's NOT a bloody damn one size fits all solution, especially when everyone's economic situation is different, and todayz capitalism is a different model from that of over a half century ago, eh? Bottom line, is our so called peoples governments, whether in UK, US, or Germany, are not working in the peoples interests, only in the interests of multinational banks and corporations ... and Germany itself, should not be dictating their corporate agenda to other European countries ... nor should the US corporate agenda be dictating European policies.

But speaking of immigration policies, like Sahra's recent stand, I also support some limits on immigration, especially due to this latest model of neoliberalism. I don't support this "Wall" on the US/ Mexico border though, only because I know a little about how the illegal immigrant business worx down here. You are going to have people getting around it as long as there is money to be made, plus it's an eyesore and damaging to property values on the border, when property/ homeowners on the border have to look at a 30'ft wall, instead of a view. This push for it and controversy is strictly political, and politicians playing with the lives of people as usual ... all this talk about the humanitarian crisis, or thousands of suspected terrorists are crossing, love for the children and women or related nonsense is shameful, because many of these politicians could give a shit less about any of that. Germany, France, the UK and others in Europe, has their own unique problems as well, as far as immigration, and like the US, their policies in government are being dictated by the same inconsiderate trash with big money that dictates US. The big banks and corporations want open borders when it serves their best interests only, they NEED more open immigration policies for when they go into some of these piss poor countries to extract their resources, covertly starting wars, corrupting their governments even more, and enslaving their people. The reason is because when they do, people try to flee their native countries, not because they want to, many miss their countries ... but they are being crushed so hard, they try to flee to save their families and selves in the hope of a better life. In turn, the big money also is able to drive down wages and standards of living in those more prosperous and more democratic countries immigrants flee to, and dictate for their governments to impose more austerity in the freer countries, while financially draining them and putting them more in debt. There is plenty more on this in these series of this journal/ blog. Below is recent news from The Guardian, which is an introduction to this new movement. And I wanted to add in fairness, the piece in The Nation, to try to get a better look at the pros and cons historically of immigration policies, and because every country and generation is unique as far as the benefits or downside of such. I also wanted to add a couple videos of Sahra speaking a few years back, in particular to Merkel, who I made years ago, and never really cared much for Merkel myself. Some of what Sahra sayz is criticism to the US too, but understand that Sahra is not attacking our people, she is pointing out some of our government's policies and actions ... which we as Americans should also be concerned with. A closing music video at the bottom dedicated to Aufstehen.

The Doobie Brothers are out of San Jose, CA. When I seen this crew sometime in the early 1980's in a circular arena, they closed all seats on the sides of the stage and back, which they could have sold, because it was a sellout, but done it so that everyone had a front stage view. They also done at least a 1.5 hour long music set in 2- 45 minute parts with a 30 minute intermission between the 2, about the longest music set I seen of any crew ever, and really great sound. This will also be included in the "RCJ Music/ Arts Honour Roll Society".

ELIZABETH WARREN 2020 PRESIDENTIAL RUN: Restoring DEMOCRACY and Ignoring OLIGARCHY ... The "Enhanced Fighting Chance" Edition ... (ELIZABETH WARREN PT.18)

Elizabeth Warren Launches Exploratory Committee for President ... Thanx to Elizabeth Warren

I will start off 2019 in this journal/ blog with some refreshing news I caught New Year's Eve, when Senator Elizabeth Warren announced that she will start her run for President 2020, this will serve as Part 18 of the "Elizabeth Warren" series ... a little opening video above. I had my eye on Warren for years, as you can see in this series, and been hoping she would run for President ... so Congratulations and Thank You to Senator Warren on this action ... it's about goddamn time, Senator {:-) I look for talent ... like exceptionalism, strength, accuracy, and outstanding performance in those folks that I highlight for their qualities in this journal, like a talent scout does ... just like I do in the music/ arts series here. One of the things I look for in a political candidate, whether it is for the House, Senate, President or locally ... is a record with integrity, job performance, and action on issues that concern the majority, and for balance, Elizabeth is very qualified for President, probably one of the best qualified and considerate that I seen in a few decades ... and in these times, she is a real treat and breath of fresh air, from the stench we have. She is the first Democratic contender to come out, and there will be many more, some even more popular as far as mainstream media and the political establishment, so she hasn't had any Senators talking about endorsing her yet, and it's still in the exploratory phase ... but good enough for me. I felt it was good though that she announces this early on, some don't ... the reason why, is because it gives her time to introduce herself to the people ... because I have talked to folks, that don't know about her ... many folks just don't have time to examine politics closely. Senator Warren want's this to be a grassroots type campaign, so this is not about trying to raise millions from special corporate interests, Super PACs or whatever ... she prefers average Americans to give small donations. If someone from the Wall Street crowd wants to donate ... you can give your personal modest donation equally like any other American would, is the way I see it ... after all, y'all like calling yourselves "united citizens" (Citizens United), eh? ... here is your chance. For those who feel unheard across America ... there is a need to enhance our fight to make sure we do get heard.

The vast majority of Americans know how importante the economy is, so much of our lives are focused on trying to make enough money to live, and so many of us know and felt what it is like to get cheated and shortchanged. One of the most considerate things of many for Americans that came out of Elizabeth was the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ... that is responsible for recovering $12 billion for nearly 30 million folks across the country that been burned in some way since established in 2011 ... which many Americans fall prey to, even many more cases that are not reported. Elizabeth has quite a background also for banking, law and the economy, she understands not only the average American making ends meet, but importantly understands how the financial system worx, and the importance of them abiding by basic rules, as most Americans have to. We seem to forget at times that America is supposed to be a Democracy (representative democracy, not direct), and forget some of the rough times historically that this country has went through when we don't have enforcement to watch some of the big predators, many that have ruined our economy time and again out of arrogance, greed, irresponsibility, and lousy management ... so this is more than just the wants of an oligarchy, the American people and workforce is what make this machine work, and allow so many of these predators to do exceptionally well at our expense. Much of what Elizabeth done is to help folks that like a fair deal, work hard and play by the rules. Even if you are in middle America like myself in Texas, or Oklahoma where she grew up, whether Democrat, Republican or Independent politically, and you have a smaller company that serves your community's needs, or the average wage worker, what she been doing for years, is looking out for your interests especially. I recommend her book "A Fighting Chance" (goodreads) to read, to get to know her and some of the challenges we have better as well ... she understands those working folks on the right too, and fights for them as well, understanding fiscal responsibility, after all, like myself she is a former Republican, but seen how the party lost much values. If you go through previous postings in this series, you will also see her in action. A video below of Elizabeth making her announcement and answering questions below in her neighbourhood in front of her house ... you certainly have my endorsement, Senator!

Word for Word: Pres.Trump Signs Criminal Justice Reform Bills Into Law ... Thanx to C-SPAN **** this was a "great historic masterpiece"? ... President Trump just suddenly made us/ America "safe"? ... heh, heh, heh, heh, heh {:-) ... this is silly {:-)

This posting will be Part 34 of the "Incarcerated American" series and Part 19 of the "How To Privatize America" series of this journal/ blog, with an opening video above. This is to look at the new prison reform package that President Trump just signed called the "First Step Act" (wikipedia), which I've browsed through what was available. This reform is being praised by just about everyone, it has received bipartisan support across the board, and was a landslide slam- dunk win ... House, Senate, and President. So many have worked on getting this through for months, the President been hot on it with his son- in- law Jared Kushner and daughter Ivanka (even though, he done not much of anything), celebrity influence such as Kim Kardashian West, hubby Kanye, and others, billionaire Koch brothers even played their part in drafting this over the months, as well as the 2 largest private prison corporations GEO Group and CoreCivic, and so many establishment politicians of Democrats and Republicans, and lobbyists. When I first heard this on the tele news right after it passed the Senate, I was impressed and surprised both of this being pushed by Republicans with enormous bipartisan support and praise to the President, etc. MSNBC which is considered liberal, called it a "bipartisan Christmas miracle" (YouTube), and praised the bipartisan support, saying bipartisanship is what the American people were voting for last midterm (I certainly didn't vote for bipartisanship this year for a reason). Fox News, which is considered conservative, were very excited, because this shows how much the President and Jared care about all these people of colour (YouTube) that have been victims of mass incarceration. Then I went to CNN, which is considered as neutral, or more bipartisan ... they were excited as little toddlers on Christmas morning getting their gifts, saying this is historic, great and beautiful, with everyone coming together (YouTube). So I guess that's it, eh? ... I mean, all the mainstream media, right, left and center got it covered, Democrats and Republicans are now texting buddies, prisoners nationwide cheering "free at last" etc. There should be a "little" credit here, because it is just that ... a "first step" that is decades past due, and many look at this as a sort of template to roll down to the states ... a trickle down type justice I guess, but this is deeper than what we are seeing here.

And when you have only corporations/ lobbies/ investors doing most of the draft legislation with minimal input from the public or even several so called lawmakers, you got to alwayz follow the money, and expect that it's all about such ... much of this, is just a corporate/ investor cash grab. Many of these folks that draft/ write these bills on issues that concern us, really don't even halfway understand what our problems are, they live in a bubble of sort, so you cannot expect them to know the real problems, unless they themselves lived it or been there. That is why we need to push them so hard, and hold them accountable some way, they are sort of blind to too much. I linked some pieces below out of several I reviewed looking for some straight talk, to look at the other side of this ... it was difficult getting past so much of the tearjerker broadcasting from professional journalism in this, even from some that are more progressive usually, I guess so many folks are desperate, and havent heard anything halfway decent come out of Washington in so long. And this isn't just a matter of "my" opinion why I chose these few below, this is a matter of reality, not opinion, so unfortunately, I can't put sugar coated nonsense on here, if I did, it would not be accurate or real ... just more fantasy nonsense. Probably one of the best pieces I read, short and to the point, had to be German Lopez at Vox. Karl's piece at OpenSecrets is very importante to look at the political and monetary/ profits angle to this ... which is also importante in understanding how this too, leads to more profit driven privatization and expansion of tax funded private investments into post- prison and other related services that serve our communities. I wanted to get The Real News piece in here, because I alwayz like to get Eddie Conway's view on these issues, since he been in the trenches and prison system for years ... and he's also executive producer of TRNN and host of "Rattling the Bars", and the imput of Dr.Natasha Pratt- Harris and Aajah Harris, being interviewed by TRNN's Marc Steiner, hear them out. I also wanted to add Damon K Jones to get a view from an activist who is also in the National Black Police Association and with the Westchester County (NY) Department of Corrections. At the bottom, I will add a little something to this.

First of all, credit to all those who are actually pushing for prison and sentencing reform changes, without them, this would not even be on most politicians tongues. Coming into this, Democrats who jumped on board with this, were some of the same ones earlier in the year who opposed much of it, because it was not significant enough to sell to those who want reform, because it fell way too short of what is needed. Republicans at the same time, never would even touch this issue with a 10'ft pole over the years, they just totally ignored it, and now all of the sudden they're in favour as a majority? ... go figure. Democrats are now in a spot where they have to go with it as is, if they don't, or whoever don't on either of these sides, will be painted as uncompassionate to these inmates and so many of colour, poverty, and detained immigrants ... so in that sense, it's hilarious, because both sides are looking to improve their public image, looking for something to hold against their opponent in the 2020 election ... so, much of that is nothing but political, as usual. There is a low public approval rating for most in Washington, even on both sides, and both sides know this ... today, many folks just vote against what they hate "most", and are losing confidence in these political institutions, just like many religious institutions. Both of these sides looking at the last 40 years under neoliberalism wealth control, have contributed to this mass, now corporate, incarceration. Kushner's dad had to do a short stretch of fed time, for illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, witness tampering ... he got gravy time for all he done, and fed is "easy time", not like state or county time. I read of a lady recently, I believe in Texas, that voted when she was not supposed to, and she gets like 5 years or so, Kushner's dad should have got what everyday people get every day for doing much less harm or criminal ... bottom line.

Right now, you even have several of Trump's buddies and others related to corporations and government officials being investigating, charged/ tried, and even pending almost certain convictions, all of which will fall into sentencing to federal guidelines, facilities and supervision, this bill importantly also makes it so judges (many in the pockets of those with wealth through financial support) have more flexibility to act more favourably on certain cases, where a judge can weaken charges and sentencing guidelines for those at the top. This bill/ law/ act will benefit those the most, that are big players with money, that do far more foul shit at destroying the integrity of our government, and stealing from the majority of people in this country, to crushing peoples rights, and trampling on our constitution, along with basically making a mockery with their corrupt wayz, of our justice system. So there was also consideration when making this (especially from Republicans) to protect and allow room for judicial leniency for those at the top and big player criminals of white collar, they will in turn release a few thousand regular folks, and only in fed facilities, it's a trade, price of business, etc ... like if a major bank were to intentionally rip off a billion in some scam, they're ready and eager to pay several million in fines "IF" they get caught. This does nothing "as is", for the vast majority of people all over America, doing time in state, private and county confinement/ corrections institutions. If you're the average swinging dick doing a little couple years down in state/ county/ private on some trumped up bullshit dope possession case where you felt pressured to plea deal on, or some petty parole/ probation violation like not filing your change of address on time, or related nonsense ... don't yet jump for joy, homeboy. And YES, all these prison work strikes that pop up from time to time are needed and justified, don't keep respecting that which has no respect for you.

The private prison industry right now been planning on broadening their business/ services, they have so many contracted in right now for investors in institutional detainment services, plus it makes them look better, since the private institutions have a shitty record for the abuses and neglect in their facilities. They have also many small contractors peddling medical/ health, clothes, food, phone/ video services, finance/ credit services, etc, to inmates and their families, all to milk a few more bucks off of folks miseries, their families and taxpayers. They want to expand that into post- prison services ... all the halfway houses are good investments for those in these industries, because you get to house the ex- inmate, after also getting tax funded money out of prisons for some bullshit job training, for minimal wage jobs out in the world, many of which would be in major corporations, which will also drive regular employees wages down over time, because of pay competition. I know a gal for instance, who received a culinary certificate from a private ran state facility she was doing a 2 year dope conviction plea deal at, she was involved in their inmate training programme, she earned it cooking 2000+ pancakes every morning starting at like 4am for the inmates (so they don't have to hire actual cooks from the private sector, in fact, most institutions are totally self reliant as far as any needs), no other training, many places she applies for employment won't honour her certificate?, because it's not accredited/ legit, I told her when she questioned me ... if they do, it will be for a dirt low wage, and having her do 2- 3 other jobs with it. What I mean is, the inmate gets out, is locked down in another way to a halfway house, has some mediocre job, you collect fees from taxes for housing, and also get a rent fee from the person being housed, petty extra fines and fees, along with more fees from the state and ex- inmate, for drug/ alcohol testing and counseling, ankle/ electronic monitoring, administrative fees, and probation/ parole type fees. Plus, the ex- inmates want to earn good time, with programmes for them to do all the maintenance work at the house/ facilities in their so called "free world" post release, along with community services. And they will eventually want to also privatize the parole/ probation offices that states/ counties now control.

As far as cutting down the recidivism of folks in the revolving door system we have now ... all these private prison players bank on and want recidivism, don't believe this nonsense that they don't, or are thinking about our communities, their love for us or related trash talk. Unless you change so much as far as what qualifies as a release conditions violation, you will have high recidivism rates, many Texas parole violator facilities are already privatized even, where offenders do 3- 6 months to maybe 2 years max, equivalent to state privatized jail places as far as how long sentences are. We take people on bullshit charges, incarcerate them, make money off it, send them back into the same community they violated in, they are back in the same rut and around the same crowds, marked and tagged by every cop in the community that needs a quick bust to make his/ her quota, the person on parole/ probation has a list of 100 things they can be violated on, so have more pressure on them, than when they first got arrested when they went in ... why do you think so many folks ask to do the time instead of being put on probation? ... because of how hard it is to make it out in the world on paper (probation). The cops base promotions and points on quotas nowadayz, bonding agencies make a bundle, assistant prosecutors get convictions galore in their portfolio, judges use them to campaign on, low scale attorneyz make a bundle off bundling groups of cases in one hearing, court appointed attorneys work with the prosecution in most cases, to lock up or "lock in" those charged to a probationary deal/ plan, the charges are jacked up and excessive. Many major corporations even depend on prison labour (Global Research), and private investors depend on prisoners for profits ... private prisons are manipulating even state legislation (ACLU), not just federal, some private prison companies require "lockup quotas", or threaten to sue states for not enough prisoners (Prison Legal News) ... this IS THE REALITY of America. So as far as changing any of this, you can't even touch it, without changing all the dependence we have on locking up people for petty things, that are no harm to anyone.

Neither is the war on drugs halfway working, again, just a bunch of folks/ investors making a bundle off it. We need to start treating drug addiction for what it truly is, it is an illness, like alcoholism. Today, the pharmaceutical industry is as much a problem as the major illegal drug cartels. Even much of the rehabilitation is falling short of what it should produce as results, in the meantime as awful as this may sound to folks, or out of the question, radical, etc ... we need to find wayz for existing drug addicts to legally and safely use their drugs in designated areas. This also cuts down on scattered street use and distribution, use of many vacant properties, including black market dealing in public/ parking lots/ properties, if we can supply/ subsidize drugs as well as drug paraphernalia/ supplies, until those can get help, this also cuts petty crimes such as stealing ... this is safer for communities as far as crime, even for health and sanitation, disrupts illegal trafficking, it can be monitored, and is a substantial savings to the taxpayer. I know how awful that may sound, or hard to swallow ... but we have a serious issue, that cannot get stabilized the way we do things ... we have failed across the board on making any progress. Most people addicted don't really like being addicted, deep down ... and some need to hit rock bottom or come close to death before they can make that decision, and it's a hard fight mentally and physically ... much of our incarceration is related to this. We also do not give communities the tools they need to do the needed work in their communities changing things, these communities percentage- wise even pay more taxes collectively than many of the wealthy or their corporations, they deserve more money for tools. And frankly, regardless of all the crocodile tears in Washington, many of them don't give a shit, except what they can use for political or monetary gain, we live in a predator and prey semi- puritanical society, regardless of what we may fantasize it is, or think how liberated we are. All this talk right now about how this will trickle down to states, or how President Trump will go down in history as the compassionate reformer or related talk, is just jumping the gun. Sure, a half step is better than no step, BUT ... don't overrate the template. Other than that, try to have a fun and enjoyable New Year's Eve.

That's the Reality ... Word Out ....
