AMERICA'S DELUSIONAL DISORDER: You CAN'T Make SENSE out of NONSENSE ... in a QUEST for The Best of Unachievable RIGHTEOUSNESS ... The "Intrusion by Delusion" Edition ... (AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM PT.10)- (HUMAN MORALITY PT.25)

***** First of all, since this is a Texan's blog ... Congrats to former Dallas County Sheriff, Lupe Valdez, in her win tuesday night, to be the Democratic nomination for Texas Governor (HuffPost). Lupe will be the first openly gay and latina in Texas to be nominated and make this run for Texas Governor, who I supported, and will against Gov. Greg Abbott.

This posting will serve the "American Exceptionalism" and "Human Morality" series of this journal/ blog. This is to take a look at the current condition of America, you can say ... a look at the chipping away of our liberties too ... and it's so deep, at that. I know it may sound a little hysterical, when I call America a "semi puritanical society" ... which to me it is. I have looked at America this way for my entire adult life though, I mean, it's obvious ... you dont need a hysterical, conspiracy, or left/ right mind to see it, just look at the restrictions in place, the correctness factors, and more liberated countries, etc. Today, from what I see happening, it's going backwards even more ... you dont even need a liberal viewpoint or media source to see this ... those on the right are being very clear, honest and open on their intentions. This posting was inspired mostly by Kali Holloway's piece in Alternet, and partly inspiring the title of this posting too ... Kali sum's it up fairly well. Also inspiring this posting, was Kalpana Jain's piece in The Conversation. I also included a few extras, with what is happening in a North Bend, OR school, to students that are LGBT ... and mind you ... Oregon is one of the most liberated states, if not the most, in the country ... this is how deep this virus of thought has spread. I also added a Vox link on what is happening all over the country right now, as far as a woman's right to choose, and what she will have to go through, as well as having control over their health needs. And below all that, a 20 minute video from John Oliver, Thanx to Kali Holloway ... it is comedy, and folks are laughing up a storm, however, what Oliver is talking about is true, and in reality, NOT VERY funny, if you are the victim of these con artist religious snake oil peddlers. To me it's disgraceful, what we legally allow these thieves in the name of "religion" to do, as well as giving them the tax exempt status ... and shameful that so many people in our country are buying their rubbish. Think of the thousands of people of faith, that have been basically milked and robbed blind by some of them.

I agree with Kali as well on abstinence programmes, even though the amounts spent on this may seem little (Washington Post), compared to the billions that are redirected to corporate interests, and basically done to push through other crap in some bill that will gain possibly billions for corporations and the wealthy. As far as abstinence though, sex education, responsible sex, or whatever title ... obviously the President himself could use some classes ... do we see him attending classes/ programmes? Simply sex education and contraceptives access, statistically serves better than abstinence programmes. Yes, it is sad also ... that we are willing in this country, to spend so much money on stupid things that have proven to not work, and simply basing it on some religious and unnatural ancient doctrine, that does not address the issues that we face in the 21st century. It's like spending money on conversion therapy to try to make gays turn straight, then of course, even after they try to be straight, may relapse later down the road, and need more therapy, or end up in a disappointing marriage and divorce (more $$$$) with someone they never had much sexually in common with to begin ... there is no goddamn sense in that. Although, the "sense" part, comes only to those making the money off this, and knowing that whatever they make you do, you will sin/ relapse, and come back for more therapy, etc. Very similar to how a mega church institution sets up their sin network ... they know and admit that you are going to sin, or go against the rules, because you're human, they set themselves up as the only institution and negotiator between you and "their" concept of God, that can save you from all this (think of them like an insurance company), and keep you in their grasp for business. Like any corporate business, they need you, your weaknesses, habits, indulgences or anything, to "prey" for business (their food) ... while you "pray" to them for their help or guidance. You are creating a society to also be governed in thought by this increased quest for unachievable righteousness, while chipping away so many of the rights of folks ... that we have fought and died for over years to achieve in this country, throwing so much progress down the drain. At the same time, we are pigeonholing, whether teens, gays or women, which will increase inequality and discrimination, making them feel more segregating from society, than integrated in our society ... again ... going backwards.

As far as opportunity under this new wave of neoliberalism ... choice, freedom of market access or the rest, that too is obviously decreasing as we let these delusions control us. We also have to look at all the mergers that been allowed, and how our choices have been decreasing, as we are told that this is for our good. Our media access and free speech is under attack as well, this is also attacked by a President who prides himself on securing our rights and liberties ... while he on the other hand, is first in line to weaken and restrict our rights. Our local and state budgets are being drained by this same vermin, and telling us the patriotic thing to do is "shut up, and do what were told". Our environment and even public and consumer safeguards are being eradicated too, and all our assets being sold off the the highest bidder. The whole purpose is for the big wealth holders to revise and enhance the master/ slave mentality, and why I call these powers in this journal/ blog the "3- entities" of control ... the religion is incorporated into capitalism and government/ military, the 3 work as one, for the sustained power of the few ... if you're religious ... look at them as "the evil trio". This certainly is a land of opportunity, and I myself know of folks over the years that have made their million, that started from nothing. However, the opportunity is far more hard to grasp than before ... the old saying that "opportunity knocks", is more and more unlikely due to various factors, today it does not knock, or even honk the horn as it drives by. Between the austerity, milking our taxes, driving down wages, removing overtime, the cost of living and bang for your buck ... we have been in a constant decline as a majority ... a small percentage are who made substantial gains, and much off the backs and misery of the majority. We need a complete overhaul to fit with the times we are in ... just like in the previous paragraph, explaining how ancient doctrines dont serve the needs we face today, the economy and markets of today are outdated as well ... and we are going backwards in those areas too. At the same time we are being programmed to think that we should do nothing but work till we drop, and that retirement and leisure should be taboo ... Congressman Greg Gianforte advocated to work like the biblical Noah character, who was building an ark at 600 years old (?) ... this kind of thinking advocates one to embrace an ancient slave mentality. Although past due, there is no better time than now to fight back against this vile intrusion on our society and minds ... organize, educate and resist ... we have nothing to lose, only can gain.

We are also a country, with so many veterans living on the streets homeless, and a President and Congress, that's even wanting to cut their entitlements, that they earned by putting their lives on the line for others, and their country's interests. Our current President Trump, a celebrity show hustler out of New York City, cutting and squeezing even the working people in the midwest and southern states that supported him most. A President that is a draft dodger, just like former President's Bill Clinton and George W. Bush ... and as far as I'm concerned, I have a hard enough time even viewing President Trump as a "man", and Yes, I have been fair and gave him some benefit of doubt, since he was so targeted in media. They are quick to send others into war, but back down themselves ... when all they had to do, is do their service and claim themselves as a "conscientious objector" and be assigned something else besides combat, such as in a med unit or whatever ... I mean, you cant even do "that much" for your country and these soldiers that display strength and commitment? A President, that is quick to discriminate against having gays in the military ... who couldnt even get up the heart to serve one day himself. What we are advocating by praising and kissing the asses of such ilk ... is that it is fashionable, I guess, to have the weak lead the strong? ... if so, that is our mistake. You (Trump) insult Senator John McCain (of his own party), for being captured by the enemy? ... does he NOT realize the amount of physical and mental strength McCain had to have to last through 5 years of this? ... how long would have Trump lasted? A President mind you, that has more women than you can shake a stick at (not meant to criticize him for many sex partners). But I would confidently assume, that even he, would use and encourage abortion (whether legal or not), through one of his private doctors, and probably have before, to any of the ladies that he got pregnant other than his wives ... then paying his lawyers to give them hush money too. So dont come off presenting yourself, with this bloody damn righteous piety image to the people of this country, because it makes you look more stupid than the masses that you think are stupid. Education, awareness, and publicly discussing these things, that are even clearly against what most value, are tools we can use to break the shackles of this delusional disorder, intentionally caused by this intrusion on our thinking.

This entry into the music/ arts honour society of this journal will be to sample some of the worx of Von Magnet (wikipedia) out of Paris, France. Much credit to Phil Von as well for the unique experience of this crew, as far as music composition and the theatrics coordination and direction of this crew over the years ... and all the contributing talent that were drawn and pulled into this ensemble ... like a magnet! This crew is certainly cut out for the "live" experience ... because the crew comes from not just musicians, but visual arts, theatre and dance backgrounds ... combining theatre, music, video art and more, they do the vocal worx in 7 languages. It may transform thoughout the presentation from a flamenco sound, to arabic, to mediterranean, folk, electronica, to industrial, poetry and various drama pieces. They are an array of versatility for sure, including instrumentally ... and not only playing the music, but acting out their individual emotions. Although they are categorized in so many genres ... I look at Von Magnet as a breed of its own. The roots is a avant- garde post modern industrial crew, starting in 1985 London ... and the late 80's were a very popular crew in the London underground music/ arts scene ... and are still popular in related circles to this day. I also love the feet percussions of Phil Von, which adds to that electroflamenco flavour too. Phil also worx with other projects in street and dance theatre ... and Phil to me is a genius! I selected some work below from both studio for sound, and "live" work for a feel of their presentations ... and Thank You to these folks ...  Enjoy!

ACTHAR DRUG 100,000% PRICE HIKE 2018 & For "Good Reason": The ANTITRUST Bust & Confusion of the COLLUSION ... The "ORGANIZED CRIME" Edition" ... (PHARMACEUTICAL CASH COWS PT.8)- (HEALTH CARE REFORM: ... another "FORM" of "REFORM" PT.13)

This posting will serve as Part 8 of the "Pharmaceutical Cash Cows" and Part 13 of the "Health Care Reform" series of this journal/ blog. I wanted to have this piece that 'CBS 60 Minutes' aired last night (sun. 05/ 06/ 18) in this journal, because it was such an open and straight piece concerning Mallinckrodt and Questcor pharmaceuticals and their sidekick pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), Express Scripts, in particular concerning the drug "Acthar", which has been around since the 1950's ... and the lawsuit on them from The City of Rockford, IL. The 14 minute video and transcript below from CBS. I also included a newsread link that first reported on this from Business Insider below that, to get a little more background on this case. And another link from CNBC on the stock market response the day after CBS aired this. At the bottom, I will add a little opinion of my own ... and I wanted to open my part below with Senator Elizabeth Warren questioning "PhrMA" lobbyist, Lori Reilly. Lori talks about the millions in "rebates" to the consumer they give ... why even need rebates?, just open and free the market to the consumer, eh? ... my guess is that even the rebates they hand out, are taxpayer subsidized.

Elizabeth Warren Grills Pharmaceutical Executive At Drug Costs Hearing 10/ 17/ 17 ... Thanx to LIVE ON- AIR NEWS

Thomas Hudson Pickering/ Ranch Chimp

Credit in the above video to Senator Warren for speaking up on this stuff in Washington to her colleagues, grilling these crooks in the mainstream, and informing the people across America. And a bit of credit to Lori Reilly, for a good job displaying just how full of shit she and her lobby is, showing that she is more full of shit than a sewage treatment plant. And since no one can come out in the above pieces and call this for what it truly is, let me ... "organized crime". This is why I called Martin Skhreli's operation "small potatoes" in PT.5 of Pharma Cash Cows with his 5000% hike ... just because of how large this is ... I mean, Skhreli is just nickel and diming compared to Mallinckrodt and Questcor. And in all fairness to Mallinckrodt ... according to their claim and other evidence ... Questcor done the majority of the increase, before Mallinckrodt made their so called modest price increase (which was $8000 a vial) after buying Questcor. You cant look at a 100,000% increase, or a $8000 a vial increase by Mallinckrodt, justified simply because of inflation and research costs, eh? But in fairness as well ... Mallinckrodt knew how much the price increased since 2001 till their purchase ... since Mallinckrodt or anyone else would not spend billions buying a company without knowing their profits, losses, and potential value ... so there was not even good reason, as folks may ask, for minor increases to Acthar after they purchased Questcor. The "good reason" for Mallinckrodt tough, is because they seen that increase and profit assessment as a huge money maker, and showing the clear "intent" of Mallinckrodt, and even expanding and marketing this drug for a variety of other uses and milking Medicare on seniors as well for every dollar it can make off it.

I mean, let's face it ... like some medical providers, pharma companies, and specialist doctors, things like Medicare/ Medicaid and even insurance companies are looked at like a 24/7 ATM machine for many of these folks, eh? And regardless of how confusing this can seem, the bottom line between these entities, like Questcor, Mallinckrodt ... and even pharma benefit managers like Express Scripts ... there is clear as day collusion. And buying out their only competition company and closing them down is organized crime, and anti- free market as well. Mallinckrodt got caught violating antitrust laws, when this first came to light, even though they denied any wrongdoing, but agreed to pay the fine they claim, just to get it past them. It's too bad the "3 strikes and you're out" law for average low level criminals dont apply to these kind of criminals as well, because low level habitual criminals are charged as such in America, even for minor controlled substance drug possession. And I feel that many of these type cases, top executives should be charged with "criminal" offenses, and tried as such ... whether it's Mallinckrodt/ Pharma, British Petroleum (BP), Wells Fargo, JPMorgan/ Chase, or any others. And no, charging or convicting executives with crimes, will not shut down the company, that person convicted will be replaced, and they will learn hopefully from it, and not do it again.

As far as negotiating drug prices, whether it's by government for Medicare Part D (PolitiFact), or any negotiating from the consumer/ patient, or tax payers ... we should be allowed to negotiate, this legislation to ban price negotiating or even buying drugs from wherever we want, is clear pharma and legislative branch collusion. Folks like Senator John Cornyn, a Texas republican in the U.S. Senate ... claims that allowing the government, consumers, taxpayers, patients to negotiate drug prices, and to have true choice, will lead to a slippery slope of socialized medicine, etc. I dont think folks like Senator Cornyn got the picture, perhaps we could make it in writing and shove it in his face ... the consumer and demand of those, is what should drive markets, it forces them to compete, plain and simple, and he knows it ... after all, he calls himself a free market conservative. It dont matter if it's just moderate or far right republicans, or centrist right leaning democrats, they all speak out of both sides of their goddamn mouths when they reject legislation to give the consumer free choice and fair market ... which is not democracy, but corporate communism. Not only the Rockford lawsuit is past due, common sense, and justified ... but the rise in these lawsuits is justified.

We all hear out of these Washington establishment corporate mouthpieces, especially from the republicans, that our Medicare is going broke ... it's because they legislatively let these corporate criminals dictate everything and every piece of legislation. And republicans in particular along with these corporations and mega investors, hit two birds with one stone on these moves ... by robbing and driving our Medicare into bankruptcy simultaneously, so they can privatize all that too. The corporations get to negotiate on their terms only? ... and shut out competition and the consumer demand? .... this is monopolization, and more racketeering. Of course these corporations dont mind paying a little fine, it's just the price of doing business to them ... you rip off a billion, and if you get caught, you pay a $100 million fine, you just made $900 million, and there is legislation as well to get tax payers to pick up much of the fine they did pay on top. Hammering these politicians, and lawsuits against these crooks, along with demanding prison sentences, and legislative changes, should be our priority. You cant blame these corporations fully for this, much blame should go to Senators like Cornyn and folks in the House of Representatives too ... they encourage these folks to rob us and abuse our system, government, consumers, and tax dollars.

Trump's Labor Department says No Penalty for Wage Theft ... Thanx to Labor This Week

This posting will be for the "American Jobs" and "Poverty & Despair" series of this journal/ blog. It's to look at the current jobs climate and growing problem of wage theft in our own country (USA) ... and most importantly, what to do about it. Wage theft is nothing new, especially for America, but it's been increasing and spreading like a disease over the last several years ... this is a perfect example of what the one sided approach of laissez- faire economics in neoliberalism can lead to. A short intro video above to see what's on the horizon, as far as plans from our loved ones ... President Trump and the Republican side of Congress in particular, as an approach to cleaning this up. And this "PAID" (Payroll Audit Independent Determination), is just the usual smoke and mirror junk, that is meaningless, as far as trying to clean up things ... and even insulting to American workers. These politicians say that they do everything for the workers and middle class of America ... for, you know ... making America great again ... and looking at the blueprint, I assume like the 1920's. I chose some links and video below, out of several others I reviewed, that paints a straight picture of the reality ... and some of the techniques employers been using to basically take advantage of workers, with tips for what has been accomplished and what to do about the theft. At the bottom of the posting, I will add my own input.

Thomas Hudson Pickering/ Ranch Chimp

When someone comes into your yard or property and takes any property that is yours, you either take action yourself and defend your property or call the police ... this is basically theft. As an employee, if you steal on the job ... the employer is going to get their property back some way and fire you, after all, they have your paycheck too, as collateral ... and if they press charges, you wont get a citation or months to change your name and respond later ... you'll go to jail. As a deterrent to crimes against yourself and property, you add a type of sentry, technologies, etc ... and take security measures ... if you let it "slide", they are going to come back and take more, because it's an easy score. Any banking or corporate institution takes many security measures to protect their money and assets as well, including to protect themselves from employees who may burn them. If you take away the guards/ police from a bank or business in the type of system of capitalism we have, they will get robbed as well. You may think ... "so what if some illegal immigrants get cheated, or some low end hospitality worker ... just as long as it's not me ... ". The deal is, that this is a slippery slope, when you give an inch they will take a mile, it's human nature in an environment of capitalism on steroids ... especially when you take away basic rules and securities. Today, it's illegal day labourers, low end jobs/ workers, independent contractors, etc ... tomorrow, it's everyone else up the food chain, one step at a time, just look at a reputable place like General Dynamics above, and what they do to middle America workers and our government, and increasingly with other large corporations. A buddy of mine contracts his services out, he's not a minimum wage worker ... he dont work for less than $35 an hour minimum, transportation, food, lodging expenses, etc. He sets up WiFi and communications systems in commercial and residential building developments in the U.S. and Canada, may be in Toronto for a couple weeks, then off from there to Seattle, Chicago, or wherever. His agency last year folded here in Dallas ... didnt pay up several thousand they owed him on back contracts, they changed their company name, changed hands, etc ... told him that the contract he worked had not paid their bill yet, etc. He aggressively pursued them, got his money after months of run around, today he has a new agency in Portland,OR. If you dont act aggressive in these cases, they will just continue.

This is particularly importante to resist this culture, which has become another fad or sort ... of take everything you can. This it what feeds the culture of those employers that burn workers, and makes them think that the best thing to do, is to gang up and cheat and steal from employees, because there is not enough guards or penalization and enforcement to stop it now. They spend much of their time manipulating legislation through politics, keep us at each others throats, drive desperation, austerity or whatever, just to keep you down and their profit up .... widening the wealth gap, and creating a working class of poverty. It's the workers responsibility to gang up through labour organizing and other means to defend themselves ... and if taking down these folks is necessary, through courts/ litigation even, so be it ... they will take you down if you dont. So much can be done to fight this, so dont dwell on the despair and fear they love to push. Grassroots/ local legislation, as you can see above, does get results too, then move up to the Washington crowd ... look at measures Wisconsin took for example. Making these companies take out insurance policies, and having laws to be able to put liens (generalized wage liens) on them, before they can change company name or whatever other scam, is added security, voting and using the courts, labour organizing, social media, boycotts, etc ... there are so many tools. Use your tools/ resources, just like these companies do that screw you ... and credit to all these people that stand against this and stand by these workers. Make sure they have a backup and security before any court determines the merit of the case, make them wait ... like you have to wait, since they do the same to you. Some will tell you that to impose all these regulations/ rules on companies will hurt business ... it's the same old excuse, over and over ... business has alwayz flourished with regulations and even paying taxes, and have alwayz profited, so that's bullshit too. No business, as history shows, can survive for long without any rules and regulations ... they have rules and regulations for all their workers, they need to have rules and regulations on themselves ... not just for the workers and consumers good, but for a healthy business too. Politicians on the local levels that dont want to serve the people, vote against them. No workers rights of any kind in this country was achieved without a fight ... and the system of past, is the same game now with different players ... so none will be achieved today without a fight.

RASHON NELSON & DONTE ROBINSON: Business Entrepreneurs Receive "STARBUCKS JAIL PASS", For "DEFIANT TRESPASS" ... The "Racism 2 Classism" Edition ... (INCARCERATED AMERICAN PT.31)

Men arrested at Starbucks speak out ... Thanx to ABC News

This posting will serve as Part 31 of the "Incarcerated American" series, to review the situation and arrest of Rashon Nelson and Donte Robinson, 2 entrepreneurs arrested at Starbucks in central Philly for "defiant trespassing". This has got widespread mainstream media coverage, and made many angry, which is a good thing, because it brings to light one more time, the way things really are in our country, and what really needs reforms and change. I also had a few people in my community ask me about this, which is another reason for this posting. Then of course you have the online typical political responses, and folks criticizing these young men, many expressing racism themselves while hiding their identities on their phones and computers. And the usual crowd that say "this was all staged" etc ... but the reality is, this happens all over America on a daily basis in these communities, that look at everyone that is not as polished as themselves, as undesirable, this is the new wave fashion trend of capitalism on steroids, and shaming and discriminating people on class and race. I myself have seen this first hand, over and over and over ... and its worse today, than it was 30 years ago. It was appropriate first, to hear out Rashon and Donte, in the video above ... this was their first public statements on this today. I wanted to include the HuffPost piece below, out of several I read, because Prof. Anthea Butler really hits the spot in her piece. Also a video below with activist Eugene Puryear, interviewed by Eddie Conway. Eddie Conway himself, spent 43 years and 11 months of his life in prison, over a bunk trial and conviction ... Eddie today is Executive Producer of TRNN. A link below that, of some history of issues with Starbucks, and things like race. After, I will add my part below.

As far as the officers call response, request of subjects, and arrest ... I myself just see the officers as following the book on this ... and if one of these officers had the red- ass, it could have led to charging these guyz with other charges related to failure to comply or whatever. Both men handled themselves well too, making it so the tension with officers wouldnt escalate.  But, there is usually choice/ discretion for the officer to use their own judgement on the way they want to handle it, which if the officer is too lenient, can backfire on the officer, as you can see in this case, where a local officer here in the DFW Metroplex was punished, because he did the "right thing", but Walmart wanted the suspect arrested. But I figured they could have just issued a citation, without further detainment/ arrest, I seen citations issued in Dallas for example, without arrest ... the charges were dropped of course, but these men were jailed for at least 8 hours. In this case with Rashon and Donte, the manager who called police, didnt expect the police to arrest them (her own claim), but to ask them to leave ... nor did these men do anything out of the ordinary or criminal. The problem is, that this manager that called 911 to report this, done so within a couple minutes only ... these guyz barely just walked in the door, and asked for some code or key for the restroom ... they were refused, based on they needed to make a purchase ... the establishment has the right to ask that too, or to refuse service even, depending on the circumstances, and there wasnt no circumstances, beyond what any customer routinely does. Bottom line, the manager was too hasty, and did not even assess the situation properly ... and in my view, just panicked and lost her cool ... these gentlemen certainly didnt. I have myself went into places like this, and said I was waiting for someone to arrive, when asked ... and I certainly was not going to order a thing without the person I'm waiting for arriving yet ... I never got any static from staffs. I dont know about Starbucks much, I only been in there like 3 times, and just with someone else that wanted to go there ... I'm not into coffee or related, I just drink lots of water and vegetable juices, I'm hyper as it is without caffeine ... I know my daughter is a regular there, and works from there when away from the office. I didnt even know they have restrooms locked, never used their restroom, or noticed any signs saying "no loitering" or whatever, from what I gather, many folks loiter in there, and Starbucks sort of welcomes it as a hangout type atmosphere for their customers and friends ... that's all these guyz were doing.

It's an issue today, because racism is broadened more with classism, which Anthea Butler sums up perfectly in the HuffPost read above, this Rittenhouse district in central Philly, is one of them gentrified communities. This is going on all over American cities ... I'm sure in Philly, they will probably expand that up into Kensington as well, or other lower income communities. Gentrification is needed in urban America too, because there is so much that is old and deteriorating, but that gentrification should be done with the community in mind. Culture playz a big part in making a community, and much of this gentrification ends up culturally bland and deficient of character ... with endless corporate trendy chain joints, overbloated rent/ prices, and is only done to make as much profit quickly as possible, and turn it over/ sell to someone else that dont give a shit ... turning out highly polished plastic environments/ communities, that most can hardly afford. This gentrification should also broaden hope and inspire those with an American Dream, and invigorate progress, diversity, small investments, and help unify. They say they want to integrate, share, learn, diversify, and other horseshit to sell these plans/ developments to cities, while draining city budgets to throw too much money into these private ventures, calling this crap "public/ private partnerships". In a "public/ private partnership", BOTH public and private should have input/ voice ... what these have been, is private investors calling ALL the shots of where our dollars will benefit "them" most, with no consideration for the "public", then if the investor makes bad decisions and has a loss, they want the public to pay for it all. And when economies take a hit and downturn, even the yuppie puppies that could once afford these joints flee ... same as when these gas prices go up, used car lots are stuffed with SUV trade- ins for sale, because people dump their SUV's for smaller gas efficient vehicles ... this tells you that there is no planning for future growth and longevity of their investments, but just a fast buck, to sell a bunch of cheaply developed properties and businesses, for the highest price grab, and let the tax payers and communities handle any losses on bad investments. Gentrification planning, should include making as much affordable places as well ... you can bet, that there will be more demand, and sustainable demand and business with affordable properties, than strictly multi- million dollar properties and leasing. You are not integrating, but segregating, based on race and class only.

Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson was quick to take responsibility, which was the right thing to do, and this Starbucks issues goes back even before Johnson became CEO ... and Johnson also met with Rashon and Donte. But Starbucks had to also do this, because of past problems related, and the fact that boycotts and loss of customers will hit them where it hurts most ... profits. Probably one of the worst and most horrible cases from some of this Starbucks culture of calling cops on so called "undesirable" looking people, was with Dontre Hamilton in Milwaukee. Dontre, was NOT in the Starbucks, Dontre was on a bench at a park near Starbucks, when folks in Starbucks called the cops on him. Dontre was severely beaten, then shot at point blank range from the torso up, 14 times by the responding police officer who lost his head ... it was what most would consider ... an extreme brutal murder. This discrimination, abuse/ brutality, and murder of innocent people in our country ... is all over "quality of life crimes", which is not a criminal offense, but a mindset and culture to persecute and harm those, who have not as much as those complaining about them. Starbucks said they will close roughly 8000 stores for a half day for training in sensitivity and how to handle things better. This is certainly a plus, and they said they will forfeit millions in business for those hours in doing so ... but knowing the size of this corporation, I would guess that it will also be written off on taxes too. Not just boycotting Starbucks will change things, but importantly, focusing on these local governments to legislate changes, especially in business and police policies. The training classes is a plus, but it is difficult to change the minds and hearts of some of the people that discriminate, without legislative and community force/ pressure. And NO, I dont think the people overreacted to this ... it was justified and in order ... put yourself in their shoes, and see how you would feel about what happens to these people, and the lengthy history of it. These people are justified in their outrage, it is NOT radical ... it is in order. These people are customers too, they fuel the engine economically as well ... they are alwayz told to comply with this or that ... business and government needs to comply with the people, consumers and communities as well, it's not a one way street. As Rashon points out above, this is not just a black issue, this is an American peoples issue. I wish the best for Rashon and Donte on their business ventures, and getting past this.

Debbie Stabenow Birddogged by single payer activists ... Thanx to Healthcare NOW

This posting will be for 3 series of this journal, to focus on the growing problem and push for affordable healthcare in the U.S., as well as the growing movement behind it. This happened at the end of january this year, and is really a good piece, that is a must for this journal/ blog. This town hall was the first of it's kind in Washington, and Big Thanx to Senator Bernie Sanders (VT), again, because this man busts ass for the people of this country. Thanx to all who put this together and the guests that appeared at it, from business people, medical providers, and supporters, and those from abroad, for their help in making this movement "move". America, whether we realize it or not, has a serious health care crisis going on today ... this lengthy and informative town hall video below, will point out how importante this is, and the need to focus on fixing it. I opened above with a short vid with Senator Stabenow (MI), the questions from the audience that she is asked, is the kind of questions American voters need to ask these folks in Washington face to face, as above ... same as this gentleman questioning Senator Rubio (FL), face to face. You must keep the pressure on, especially in these election years. I also included a good read below ... "Phantoms In The Snow", recommended by Dr.Danyaal Raza of Canada, who is also a guest in the town hall. This posting will also dispel some of the hysterical myths, about how horrible national healthcare systems are ... we have familia in Toronto, who worked for years in the national healthcare system there, we talked about it when they're visiting here in Dallas, and they sure as Hell dont want our system. A short vid below that on U.S. and Canadian healthcare ... and at the bottom, I will add my part.

I mean, let's stop kidding ourselves, year after year, and face it ... as folks point out at this town hall, it's insanity and disgraceful ... a perfect example of American exceptionalism. Senator Stabenow sayz that the issue is "how do we get there?", a decades old question, by some of these decades old establishment folks in Washington, that have to kiss the asses of corporate lobbyists. For starters, and to simplify it some, you get there by pushing for what the majority of American people want, and moving your ass on it ... not year after year of lolligagging with repetitive excuses of no substance. What would many of these politicians feel, if they had to pay income percentagewise, what most pay for insurance on much more modest incomes, and get the plans most do? I question when Stabenow sayz that these experts say that the plan being pushed by folks like Sanders, will eliminate the insurance industry in only 5 years ... this has also been playing like a broken record out of politicians looking for excuses for their neglect and incompetence. How would insurance companies be totally shut down, even in 10 years? ... when they themselves pride themselves as the best providers for healthcare, even by their own claims ... "the best in the world". Credit to Stabenow though, for at least saying she would support expanding Medicare to folks 55 years of age, or support a Medicare for All "choice/ option", but how sincere of an effort she puts forth (I would have to see), I question some, knowing some of her history on a couple other things, unless I see real action ... not just talk, which includes pressuring her colleagues. I mean, dont paint this picture, that countries with healthcare for all, have no insurance companies, free enterprise, or related nonsense, eh? The idea that any of this would just miraculously shut down the insurance industry suddenly is nonsense. It would actually force them,  pharmaceutical giants, and private care providers to be more competitive and conservative on spending and costs to consumers.

I like the idea for starters, of letting the people/ consumers of this country decide for a change, on what they want ... after all, I'm not a commie, I'm for free market, and conservative on keeping costs down. We start a medicare for all ... by an expansion and revision of the current, and not mandatory, but for folks that choose to participate (and millions are ready as it is), have the deductions from payroll ... and since it's a majority of Americans asking for this, we can also find other wayz to publicly add subsidies. In a "free market" ... it will "earn" it's own way, or fail, by public/ consumer demand, whether private or public, and opening up competition, negotiating prices from services to pharmaceuticals, etc. People can simply choose, just like they do when shopping for anything. I have talked to many people that want to try something else ... a guy I know just found a job to where they pay most of his insurance, he pays like $100 a month ... medical, dental, and vision. The guy was so happy, since his last jobs had nothing to offer (2 part time jobs), and kept him at minimal hours of work, to not have to offer him any benefits ... he had a plan he took up, that was $1500 a month premiums before this new job, and several thousand annual deductible. Insurance for my wife and I, costs as much as our rent, utilities, and groceries per month combined, with a $6000 a year deductible and co- pays. Why in Hell would I want to pay this, if I can get a better plan, at significant lower costs from a "Medicare for All" plan? Why would I want a plan, where I have to buy even more plans with multiple parts and gimmicks in them, to supplement the plan you are selling me? Why would I choose to have a for profit corporation dictating my terms and conditions, over a public government plan that is more transparent, cost efficient, simplified, and supported by the people/ consumers, with the consumers input and oversight? Why would I want a corporate for profit plan that restricts my negotiating power, voice, and choice, according to stockholders demands?

Another thing that is mentioned in this town hall that we dont hear much about, is the burden on so many businesses across the country ... it is squeezing domestic business to death ... and the costs for coverage and keeping step with it all, and it just keeps increasing by the year. I have told many folks that are at least 30 years younger than me, what insurance was like back in the 1970's and 1980's, as far as simplification, out of pocket, deductibles, premiums, etc, and many were surprised ... since their generation knows nothing besides this overrated and overbloated garbage that is force fed to us now ... makes you wonder ... what happened? All your county hospitals are also feeling the pinch these dayz, with emergency rooms crammed to the limits, many even folks with simple care needs, that have no where else to go ... and who gets squeezed on that? ... the taxpayers as well. Much of this could be avoided with more clinics that are government funded through Medicare expansion, and more focus on preventative care, as all explained at the town hall. Look at how our doctors and medical providers staffs are squeezed in this system we have, also explained by folks above in the industries. It has become such a complex system, that so many hours are wasted just figuring out the plans and services, and what or who covers what ... it's become insane. Also understand that an insurance company provides very little, besides to shareholders and their CEO's pay, that is in the 10's of millions ... I mean, they act simply as a middle man management type entity, if anything. And I'm not against insurance companies, I worked for a Fortune 500 insurance company for over 6 years back in the late 80's and early 90's, it was a good place to work for. We are alwayz told that we need to adapt to change ... all these entities/ industries need to adapt to change as well, and throughout history, some become obsolete, just as jobs do as well ... it's a 2 way street in a free market and changing world, eh?

Word Out ....

Cheap Trick: SXSW Interview | Music 2010 | SXSW ... Thanx to SXSW

This selection for this journal's music/ arts honour roll society will be to showcase "Cheap Trick"(wikipedia), out of Rockford, IL ... a band I been intending to post on for a few years. An opening video interview above, that was 2010 down in Austin at SXSW. This crew been at it for over 4 decades, and was constantly on the road touring for many of those years ... 5000+ shows? ... geeez. I have been a fan of Rick Nielsen's guitar work for many years, he is a guitar collector, and playz them all ... and Rick has been the songwriter of the crew. But Rick was born into music, both his parents were opera singers, worked with so many folks, his dad directing symphonies and choirs, his dad had a music store in Rockford too. This is just an outstanding crew, Rick and bass player Tom been together since high school, they formed the band "Fuse" together in 1967. I have alwayz loved Robin's vocal work too, I miss drummer Bun E. Carlos, but Rick's son Daxx is drumming for them these dayz on tour. Years back I alwayz looked at them, as one of the most underrated bands around, despite all the popular songs they had and radio play ... finally in 2016, they made it into the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame". But they deserve all the credit they got, it was a long road playing in places like bowling alleys of the midwest, 4 gigs a night, 6/ 7 dayz a week ... and their big breakthrough was Japan, not the U.S., that really got them recognized big time, what a craze they started there! I have seen them years back in a large open air stadium as well as a small venue, and they just had such a great live sound. Although they are considered as a hard rock band, I have alwayz looked at them as having an element of punk rock to them ... depending on the songs too. I'm sure Joey, lead singer and songwriter of the Ramones would agree with me, as far as the punk sound, since Cheap Trick was a favourite of his ... but they influenced so many. I'll let the links handle the rest. Some vidz below, opening with the 1955 Fats Domino cover of "Ain't That A Shame", that Fats himself, said Cheap Trick done his favourite cover of it ... and the last song, I also wanted to include their cover of the 1965 Beatles song "Day Tripper" too. Thanx to these guyz for all the great music over the years ... Enjoy!

Survivor to Rubio: Will you reject NRA money? ... CNN

This posting is for the survivors, victims, and their families, of the recent Stoneman Douglas High School terror attack in Parkland, FL (Miami metro). Much credit to these students in particular for standing up for gun reform, and challenging business as usual. I call it "reform", because politicians alwayz use that word, when they want to take more money from us ... so add this to y'all's reform list, eh? I also wanted to do a posting here, because this has been one of the most difficult things for me to even talk about ... and I dont have answers ... I point out much here, back in 2012, concerning the Sandy Hook School attack. I'm a person, that has alwayz supported and defended the 2nd Amendment, NRA, and even the well regulated militia part, I still feel strong organized militias are importante, and support it ... I cherish all my rights, and the Constitution. I never had ANY issues with what types of firearms are sold to folks, or what folks choose to possess and purchase, I was for no limits, which is clear in the "Self Defense" series of this journal/ blog. I myself started using firearms as a kid, and have alwayz been comfortable around them ... whether for hunting, recreation, competition, or packing defense. I used to do postings in this series of firearm reviews, which I havent done in a while, strictly because of these attacks, even though I still keep up with firearms, gun shows and such. I feel as a firearms and defense advocate, that I have a responsibility in this public blog, and in my community, to do this posting ... and feel that all firearms and defense advocates, including the NRA, should also feel a responsibility too. I am forced to change my stand on those limits, as far as sales to who, since we have such a serious problem, the amount of attacks, whether it is in schools, or public venues, workplace, etc ... is just too much, and not a thing has been done to change a thing. Listening to these victims, families, survivors, especially the kids, being a father and grandfather myself, breaks my heart too. I chose to open above with a quick video, of Cameron Kasky, face to face with Senator Rubio, this is the questions you ask, period. There is a petition above the top video too. Below, I included video and full transcript on President Trump's meeting with these folks to discuss the issues, and a couple videos below that of Emma Gonzalez face to face with NRA Spokesperson, Dana Loesch ... and the public rally speech Emma gave. This is about the American people, more than political highsiding ... after, I will add my input below.

First off, concerning Senator Rubio's response to Cameron Kasky ... this is NOT an answer, you have a responsibility as a Senator, to the people, to answer straight ... this was just dancing around the question and fucking around, political player talk, which is why Kasky said he expected it. It's refreshing to see so many younger people, that are aware enough, and have the gumption to get straight to the point ... asking straight up where these folks stand on donations. The answer should be a simple yes or no, and as Cameron points out ... they can get the people to fund his campaign. After all Rubio's sales talk, he chose NOT to turn down NRA money, even if people supported him financially. Politicians on both sides, choose corporations and banks over the people, bottom line ... if they dont do what voters ask, vote them out ... no excuses. If the NRA is not doing anything to take responsibility and make needed change, and if you want change, as a candidate, since it is part of that same agenda ... you simply tell the NRA, that you are sorry, but if they cannot contribute to that change that a majority of people want ... you cannot accept their money, period. The NRA spent $50 million just on the presidential race in 2016, and 10's of millions more on lobbying/ legislation and other races, and spend in the 100's of millions annually across the board. In the $50 million presidential, they spent $31 million of that, strictly on the Trump push, being $11,438,118 in Trump support, and $19,756,346 to oppose Hillary Clinton ... that's a Hell of an expenditure. I was listening to NRA CEO, Wayne LaPierre yesterday addressing this, for being a CEO, he had nothing much to say or contribute, other than, basically arming teachers and putting armed officers in schools, saying there was a socialist conspiracy to disarm everyone, abolish the 2nd Amendment, etc, etc. There was an armed Sheriff's deputy at the school when the shooting was going down, he declined to intervene, while unarmed teachers put their lives on the line for these kids, that deputy resigned after. Good he resigned ... you take a job, you do and get the job done, eh? ... you have the experience, training, etc ... you dont fuck around and back down ... or just dont take the job, simple.

There are laws on the books, that are not even enforced as far as guns/ ammo sales, many loopholes, there is not enough safeguards and regulations. Putting some in place, and reforming legislation for such, IS NOT abolishing the 2nd Amendment, or taking away any rights of existing gun owners. Trump also in his meeting with folks, pushed the arming teachers thing (everyone was briefed before they went into the meeting), and this is the popular NRA and political solution/ stand. In a country this large ... where in Hell are you going to get the money? I mean, y'all are spending out the ass as it is, conservatives at that ... and pushing the only budget/ spending solutions, is to get deeper in debt, take it out of old folks Social Security or Medicare, milk working families more, etc ... while y'all are shelling out much of our taxes to CEO's, multinational billionaires and corporations, fighting wars for Arabs and oil companies, selling off our rights, lands, national treasures, and assets to multinational investors, etc. Be realistic, we dont have the money to lock down and arm all the schools, and teachers have enough of a job to begin with, than having to now also be unpaid cops/ soldiers. And if you did lock them all down, you would have what's like a communist state ... certainly y'all wouldnt advocate a commie agenda, eh? This should be no problem, to get legislation passed, with republicans having a majority, and a deal maker President, with a popular House Speaker and party organizer, Rep.Paul Ryan... that say, everything they want to do is for the "American People". You should be able to pass through reform, without one bit of democrat support ... even easier, than the trillion dollar tax reform and massive debt increase, that y'all were able to push through at lightning speed.

Bans on bump stocks, or restricting sales, tightening regulations on certain advanced rifles, to just any Joe/ Jane that walks in the store door or gun show, is not going to infringe on folks rights and ability to well arm themselves, simple. Not even raising the age for purchase from 18 to 21 is good enough, which the NRA even opposes ... it gives one determined to do a mass killing, an extra 3 years to plan and better detail, and psych themselves up, for their attack, and unfortunately as I write this, others are planning attacks too. As for the other talk about putting all the nut cases in mental health joints or whatever, again, where's the money and manpower to do it? And each shooter is different, even though this shooter (or terrorist), Cruz, was looked at as a lunatic ... he was also a Junior ROTC cadet and marksman shooter, he even targeted and killed fellow JROTC in his rampage, the NRA contributes equipment and related finance to the JROTC as well, for grooming and recruiting potential young officers for future military. Red Flags were a dime a dozen in this, and everyone from locals to the FBI, and the NRA missed it ... what is the problem there? Some folks just do not have the discipline and what it takes to be armed, even if they dont have a documented mental illness or criminal history, and should not even be recruited into military or law enforcement ... or even have access to arms, that is our problem as well. I dont have answers, but we have many folks with the will to demand change, and many ideas as well. We have a serious problem, and hundreds of millions of firearms, in this country alone. We have a pressured and angry society, who are squeezed, cheated, and pushed into a ratrace controlled by an oligarchy, with many social and economic issues, putting folks on the edge. We are not going to successfully get rid of arms, but we can really tighten ship and clean house. And we dont need politicians dancing around shit for more years, playing the same record with no results, and only talking about it for their political aspirations, it needs IMMEDIATE action, not years of debate. This is about the people of this country, and our children, which are our future.

Trump's Budget Cuts Trillions From Programs For The Needy To Pay For His Tax Cuts ... Thanx to The Ring of Fire

First off, Happy Valentine's Day to my wife, daughters, granddaughter, and ladies across America. Part of this posting's title was inspired by the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre (wikipedia) in 1929 Chicago. This posting will focus on this proposed 2019 budget of the Trump crew, and will serve 3 series of this journal/ blog. I chose Farron Cousins above for an intro rant, because he's right on the money ... and a couple petitions above that. It's in the "SNAP Challenge" series, because I am 100% opposed to ANY cuts whatsoever to SNAP (Food Stamps) especially, to help those with nutritional needs, and because SNAP is vital to our domestic economy and business across America ... I support, especially in this economy, even the expansion of SNAP. We should NOT have to depend on food banks, churches, and panhandling in the streets, to feed our own people, that's what we have taxes, fees, and people's government for. It's in the "Poverty & Despair" series, because this constant cuts to pay for giving more welfare to multinational corporations, that are drowning in record breaking profits as it is ... which is insanity, and putting the most vulnerable citizens/ workers of America, and our government/ voice/ democracy, into even a deeper rut. We alwayz hear from the wealthy, whining that working poor dont pay taxes ... they pay taxes on everything they do, buy, and spend, while fueling the economy, and more than most of y'all percentagewise. It's in the "How to Privatize America" series, because it is forcing us into a socioeconomic disaster, and making America weaker, and now having to depend on those who steal and recklessly use, or waste, much of our tax revenues ... to start dictating our lives and spending priorities more than ever, and removing all ownership of our country from the people.

A few links below on this recent budget proposals, and slippery transformation of SNAP ... of giving food boxes to SNAP recipients, of shelf- stable government canned and packaged foods, milk, meat, beans, fruit, etc (who will get that contract?) ... not fresh produce, as they are trying to paint this as, or the person receiving it, getting to choose foods. The NY Times piece has a view of the budget linked in it too. Also a link from the Philly Tribune, for those like myself, that remember the dayz of folks in lines to get their government surplus foods. And an importante video message below that, on how SNAP makes America stronger ... and for some bipartisan history, on how beneficial both Republicans and Democrats felt that the Food Stamp programme is to America, and why it was started. I will add my part below, and a closing music video from Svetlanas ... the song title "I Must Break You", is simple, as to what the people of this country need to do, as far as breaking the current political cesspool in Washington, to put up some kind of roadblock to this rape of America.

I havent read all the orange fox (Trump) budget, but just the first 32 pages I read earlier in the NY Times link, can be deceiving, with all kinds of talk about families, kids, workers, veterans, and being all about love for everyone. They say it's all about saving taxpayers money from excessive spending and waste ... this budget is exactly opposite of what it's being showcased as, and more full of shit than a sewage treatment plant! We are not going to save a buck, in fact, damn near every buck that we do get, will be also taken by the corporations. This recent, so called tax reform, and the couple thousand dollars or whatever we get cut from our taxes this year (if we do see much, or any ... usually that's bullshit too), will go in our pockets, and come out of our other pocket with lightning speed, because of all the rest it is going to cost us, just to please the big money that drafts all these proposals. You'll be lucky to get a month of child care expenses and some Happy Meals for the kids a couple weekends out of it. As far as reducing our debt ... not a damn thing they are doing will reduce our country's debt, and only dig us deeper into debt by the trillions if anything ... we'd be lucky to pay the interest alone ... everything is specifically designed to get us and other countries, deeper in debt.

This $200 billion for infrastructure is nothing but a teaser, it is designed to put damn near all the burden on the states individually. With state, county, and city budgets already strapped for cash on budgets in the red ... it will only lead to having the states have to raise even more taxes, fines, and fees on the people/ consumers, and much of that going to the mega investors, many being foreign investors, who will have almost exclusive ownership throughout America, of infrastructure, and much of our national treasures and assets. At the same time, it will depend too much on private investment from those who have all the money to invest, in turn, they will also have a whole list of fees, tolls, etc, that we will have to also pay, just to have access to the new infrastructure ... and they'll nickel and dime you to death. With government spending cuts to transportation, environmental, consumer protection, regulation/ oversight, public media access, and to even cut our ability to challenge in the courts any lawsuits or grievances we have. They are pushing the U.S. Supreme Court, to get rid of most negotiating power, and hand everything over to their corporate arbitration panels. It's a stab in the back to so many graduate students across America as well ... and to me, especially because of the global arena of competition we face, we should be giving 16 years of public education paid for to those who need it, as a necessity. When I was a kid, we knew it was importante to have 12 years of education, and we paid for it in government spending, 16 years is importante today, for decent paying jobs of today. This will NOT put private schools/ colleges out of business, but force them to be even more competitive.

***** U.S. National Debt Clock: Real Time

The talk we will hear most, is that there is no need for concern, because this budget as presented will never get passed. The concern though is, that such a massacre budget, will get many revisions, and without a strong challenge, will at least be a severe assault on America. Republicans in particular been planning for years, and publicly stating what they plan to do ... so this should be of no surprise to anyone who's paid atencion. They present such a drastic spending cuts proposal, not intending to get it, but to get as much of it as they can. Look at it like when you go into a court with a lawsuit with your attorney ... you ask for $5 million, but dont expect it, and know you're ready to accept half. Whatever they do get ... will be bad enough for us ... which is why I hope, that not a damn thing gets done up there ... cause anything will only be to favour corporate billionaire interests, with a few dog biscuits and leftover crumbs given to us. I agree that we need drastic spending cuts of the pork, but they can cut much of the welfare to billionaires and corporations, and those will still be billionaires ... and still raking in good profits. While they are handing out all these food baskets (America's Harvest Boxes) to even more families that get put out of living wage jobs ... they in Washington, sure as Hell are not going to cut their caviar, expensive wines, and steak luncheons, or their 10's of thousand dollar travel expenses, eh?

They say these food baskets are for concern over peoples nutrition, their love for us and our well being. Maybe some in Washington should divest from some of the junk food businesses they're invested in, and the pharma and insurance companies that capitalize off the sickness it brings, eh? Even food chain giants like Walmart and others are worried, and will be whining up a storm over these damn food baskets. Fear will spread throughout stock markets, sending some into sudden nose dives. The defense spending is even getting more insane by the year, and how much is actually defending us? We hear China is building up and may attack us, we need more nukes, etc ... China isnt going to nuke us, and these SOB's in Washington know it! ... the economic impact would hit China even worse than us ... this is silly shit! ... we have strong defense to challenge anyone as it is. Much defense spending is not to protect our country from attack, as much as it's to rape resources and fossil fuels, whether it's in the America's, Middle East, or Sub- Saharan countries in Africa. With the massive growing increase for demand of fossil fuels for energy needs, we are lucky to have enough to last for another 40 years, and they're NOT renewable. Take your budget scam book, and toss it in the paper recycle bin ... and dont waste any more of our time and money, printing more shit up like it.
