RONNIE JAMES DIO (1942 - 2010): .... "Stand Up and Shout" .... and "I" .... and Westboro Baptist Church comment's ....

This posting is in memory and to honor the heavy metal vocal icon,"Ronnie James Dio". There is so many that Mr.Dio has worked with in this industry, I asked myself looking back on his 6 decade career, into two centuries (20th/ 21st) .... "Who didnt Ronnie work with?".

But Mr. Dio is one of the best vocalist's I have ever heard, as far as his range and most dynamic .... I have heard him do a cappella as well as with the thunderous output of Marshall stack's that surrounded him on stage ... so to me .... a "vocal icon". His devotion was unparalleled, hard work and creative song writing as well. His art will continue to inspire .... Thank You so much Sir!

I also want to note here, that my "loved one's" of "Westboro Baptist Church" have raised Hell of Mr.Dio's memorial .... according to them ....like all of us who are not with their congregation .... we worship their "devil character" .... kind of odd we would worship anything of their's, heh? .... Ya'll are quite a crowd. Now some advice .... just hope and pray ya'll dont end up in Hell!

This first piece is around 1983, after he left a few year's as vocalist for "Black Sabbath" (after Ozzy Osbourne left Sabbath and went solo) and started this band "Dio", the piece called "Stand Up and Shout" ("live", but not sure of location, posting state's maybe "Rock Palace"?) ..... Enjoy ........

1983 Ronnie James Dio "Stand Up and Shout" (Rock Palace) ... Thanx to MUSIC3874

Ms.Leslie (TNlib): .... Heh, heh, heh, heh, heh ..... Well ...it may not be what one may "call" relaxation music .... but in a way it can very much be. If you have an 8am- 5pm job for instance in some fluorescent prison, like an office, warehouse, plant, etc ... you had a long stressful week meeting deadline's or whatever, you are tense .... and you attend one of these show's to "unwind". loosen up, have a couple drinx or whatever .... it can be in it's own way psychologically therapeutic, and relaxing. :)

Thanx for asking Grrrlll ......

How do you feel about some Dean Martin. Dinah Shore, Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday....I'm just saying...

Well Mr. Tim .... their all great entertainer's of course. I look at Shore and Martin I reckon as more "entertainer" than say .... being devoted strictly to the "art" (but that's just my opinion), not my cup of tea .... my dad loved both .... but his true icon I reckon would have been Perry Como. Now as far as Fitzgerald and Holiday, to me are a different category .... I see them as more strictly into the art itself, and a couple great's, I have made no secret in my past posting's of my love for Holiday's work's and her inspiration, although I havent spoke of Fitzgerald (yet), she is the core of jazz vocal. But understand also .... that's just my personal taste's only, I wasnt really a fan enough of Martin or Shore .... to say much about them.

BTW .... I planned on posting one of my favourite's, Diamanda Galas doing that classic "Gloomy Sunday". Holiday was quite an inspiration as well, that many have forgot .... how much of her work was covered by other's up till the present. Plenty of Holiday in my home collection too. I also have LaVey and Barton doing the classic.

Thanx for asking Mr. Tim .... take care Bud .........

BTW .... I do realize and want to give credit where due .... that "Gloomy Sunday's" compostion was created my Rezso Seress, I reckon Holiday just made it more mainstream.
