This posting also to serve 2 series in this journal and to honour police Capt. David Huff of the Midwest City, Oklahoma PD as a public patriot, and to also show again, that even without gun's the situation's for victim's of assault's, robberies, murder's, etc can be so traumatic and tense on the victim's. There are too many cases we see of police brutality these dayz, but the fact is again, that there are more good cop's than bad cop's ... this officer display's the necessary discipline and grace under pressure in resolving a deadly situation. The pressure must be enormous in a hostage situation like this, you are in a public place wide open, the suspect here has a 2 year old girl with a hunting type knife to her throat, he's mentally unstable, ready to kill in a heartbeat, and tell's the negotiating officer Capt Huff ... that in 60 second's with a countdown that he is going to use the knife on the victim/ hostage ... that must be one of the most tense situation's that an officer can be faced with I would imagine, it require's some really hard discipline and careful thinking, because a suspect like this if alarmed or uncomfortable for just one second can take out this hostage quick or just freak out instantly, and accidentally slashing the hostage's vital arteries or whatever. With only less than 60 second's to go on the countdown, Capt. Huff had to make a split second type decision and just hope that he doesnt make the wrong move, cause that knife is right at the throat of the hostage, with a careful move and some luck, he had just enough time barely to terminate the suspect at point blank range to the head and not any harm to the hostage, not even a scratch, beside's the suspect's blood getting on her ... that was one Hell of a move officer! ... and I'm sure when lil Zoey grow's up, she will be forever grateful ... job well done Sir!
