***** THE CREEPSHOW/ FACEBOOK

This induction to the music/ arts honour roll society of this journal will go to Canada's "The Creepshow" ... and this is just a great crew all around ... so I'm a lil late getting them in here. The crew is out of Burlington, Ont, which is halfway between the Toronto and Buffalo/ Niagara Falls metro areas. No doubt that this is one of the class acts to come up in this sort of punk and psychobilly genre sound, with how they have drawn their audiences in live performances as far as audience participation, sing- a- longs, etc, they have been doing well though all over the place, ideal for that smaller intimate type setting for just some great sound and party type atmosphere too.

They did have quite a turnover as far as lead vox ... being they had Jen Blackwood, then her sister Sarah came in, Sarah then went off into another thing she was working on with another crew, around 2012 Kenda Legaspi was brought in ... and all these vocalists/ guitarists are really good, I mean ... I cant choose one over the other, they just all worked great with this crew, and with Kenda they are evolving into a next phase. They been around now since 2005, so their well established and have 4 studio albums and booked worldwide now, they have really great harmonizing from the whole crew as far as backing vox harmonies, instrumentally versatile, and on the Hellcat label. They also played as an opening act with an old buddy locally Reverend Horton Heat in their past.

They like to write the majority of their stuff based on horror films (obviously with the titles and video {: ) ... and they add that old school punk influences with a fresh flare with them great vox blends and a more diverse instrumental blend, yet still keeping a raw fresh sound. Their songs are short which made me post 5 here (the "Ramones" kinda mastered doing short song's, being that I dont recall a band that I ever seen do as many song's in a 45 minute first set as them), and I wanted to mix it up using video pieces over live from what I had to select from to showcase that sound better, and mix their older and newer stuff. I hope to see Kenda at least stick around for awhile too, she does well! ... and wishing this crew the best ... Enjoy!
