KARA WALKER/ BLACK HISTORY MONTH 2013 (PT.1): ... My COMPLEMENT, My ENEMY, My OPPRESSOR, My LOVE ... (for Harmon Loft PT.6)

***** www.walkerart.org

This posting for Black History month 2013 will be to highlight and honour the artwork of the contemporary American artist Kara Walker, as well to be included in the "RCJ Music/ Art's Honour Roll Society". Recently Ms. Walker's art got quite a bit of criticism when a particular piece with some sexual theme in it, was put up in a Newark, NJ Library, and of course, this is something that any artist will get from time to time from folk's who get their panties/ knickers in a bind and get too swallowed up into the politpop correctness culture we have. I alwayz looked at art as for what it is, the perception, expression, and so forth of the artist, their view, etc, but ALL art's get this criticism, whether it be literature, painting's/ photography, music/ film, etc. ... and Kara's art is distinctively "Kara's" without a doubt, with it's own flavour rooted deeply in it. Historically though, is not Kara's "art" an accurate enough depiction of the condition? ... perhap's they're looking for somethin a lil more fictional, some added fantasy of some sort, as far as some of the critic's are concerned, eh? But for all those folk's (particularly American's) with a tad too much starch in their britches who love to BMB (bitch, moan, and bellyache) over art ... there is certainly a whole buffet of piece's that will sure make ya'll quiver of her's {: ) But really some beautiful art piece's here, and Thank You Ms. Walker ... wishing you of course, the best of the best, indeed! ... Enjoy!

I also want to dedicate this posting of course to Mr. Harmon Loft ....
